Christmas map special

I've currently got 10 maps and they're more like obstacle courses; I've stuck some of my old map designs together.
You start on an outside map and there is a bonus outside map if you can get through all the levels.

I got the idea from Diablo2 Arcane Sanctuary.

There isn't much in the sense of quests though.
For Christmas quests I was considering adding delivery missions like giving everybody their presents from the various LBA islands.

New idea: It'd be even more fun if we had multiplayer missions (eg. Races), maps could be designed in such a way that there are multiple routes to the destination so depending on the player depends on if they will get them quicker or not. Such obstacles could be jumping and dodging static traps.

The map designs are done. I just gotta brick them (put invisible bricks to prevent horrible glitching), convert them and quickly test then before having them synced to the server.

It hasn't been decided which World the Christmas maps are going to.
I could put it on Colozen and add a teleport option in the menu.

The christmas maps are ready and Tech Island has finally been fixed.
I'm now rushing to add events to the Christmas maps (Just got Quests & Rewards left to do, as well as dialogue).

The Christmas event will be hosted on Colozen; you'll just have to click the teleport button on the interface to teleport to the new area ("Christmas 2011").

Thanks, I couldn't of done it without Rincevent's help; assistance over google+ (gtalk) and teamviewer.

As well as the Christmas event on Colozen, I've added more 'teleport' locations; including WIP (Mystic Island, Artificial Island, SSAstaroth).
Tech Island has also been fixed so you shouldn't have any trouble going through any doorways (except maybe Maker's House - which works by jumping for some reason).

Updates:
*Rincevent has added a feature to Community (shows your location).
*'Artificial Island' has been added to Colozen
*'Mystic Island outside' has been added to Colozen
*'SSAstaroth outside' has been added to Colozen
*Tech Island fixed.

Hi guys,

Just to let you know that if you see issues with the lbanet server like what happened this weekend please post on the forum to let me know. I am not constently watching the server and if nobody tells me it does not work it could take some days before I find out.

I do not know what really happened but I saw 14 players online on the website, however obviously this was due to the fact that the server was frozen and any tentative player connection was not rejected.

I would be happy if someone could tell me when the server started to freeze (eg. how many players where connected before it freeze). I think we never reached so many players before.

Anyway the server cpu was at 100% so no wonder why it was frozen... The question is did that happen because of so many players or because of some bugs in the server side...

Oh, and I have a bug with the shadows, it isn't a black projection, it is projection of something making everything it touches transparent. I can see through walls, grass, etc...

Then, would it be possible to also have as a shadow option, shadows like in the game itself ? You know, that little grey circle under the character.

This effect happens on nVidia Cards, too. (Mine is a gForce 8800 GTS)
I always get it with soft shadows enabled but not on normal or minimal shadowmap.

The minimalshadow option should be the one supported by most graphic cards.
Other types of shadow are experimental and will not perform well with every cards.

As for the shadow like in the original game, this is possible but this is software shadow, not hardware/shaders.
This means this would need to be coded manually. A long time ago this option was integrated with lbanet however
there was some issues with it (e.g. the shadow circle does not follow the landscape and does not fit on ramp for example)

Btw: when you change the shadow type in the option menu, it does not update directly.
It will only change either if you reload the game or change the map.

For me, the minimal shadowmap is just like the normal one.

And no proto-pack ? I prefer having a normal tunic and a proto-pack than only a tunic with a medallion.
