My hope was in you, guys :/ . I searched for this game all over the net, using the only few things I could remember for it, as strings, but no luck so far. It`s damn good game with rather hard levels (I remember how much times I died while playing).

Here's a new challenge:

I used to play an old DOS game as a child which i think was called "ABCD" back then, but im searching for it and cant find any trace, so i suspect that it might have had another original name.

The game was a 2D platform game, maybe 16 or 256 color game, aimed at kids where you had to build a world by finding the letters that where spread over the current level. You played with a blonde character and there where monsters you had to avoid or you could knock out by using some sort of "bucket of mud". Once you completed the world you where assigned you got to the next level. It had plenty of levels I remember!
The levels where thematic, including outdoors, medieval castles and even a mexican town (afaicr).

Does this ring a bell to anyone? TIA!

Word Rescue? Shot in the dark here. There were monsters called Gruzzles that you had to 'slime'. You could play as either a girl or a boy (the boy was blonde, the girl had kinda grey hair). The levels were kinda thematic, yes, there was some time in castles, some outdoors, some in a kind of deserty cactus place...

that looks so weird for '94... and probably the only side-scrolling game where you have to go from right to left :P

OK, guys, get ready.

I remember playing this game in 2000 and something. You were some kind of chip and you had to fight against other enemies. These enemies were computer parts: other chips, floppy disks, CDs... and there were also some bosses like Hard-Disks and other stuff. It was basically a Battle Toads clone (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLxXmnqaJtw ) with more modern graphics. I remember I only played a Demo of this game.

well... seems like none of you know this one :P I've got one more request

it's a psx game. You were a cop and the whole game was about driving vehicles and chasing bad guys. You started with a police car, then you had the motorbike, then you drive some kind of flying car. There was even some kind of story. The game starts with some cinematics, in which you are a child, and your house is set on fire. Your dad (who was a cop) dies, and you promise vengence for him...
I think your vehicles could even shoot but I'm not sure.
And also... most of the levels where by night, and you couldn't save the game, but you could use passwords! I can't remember anything else, just that it was one of the first games for psx i had, together with fifa98 (so that's probably the year) ... and that I spent a lot of time with it

A shoot in the wild, really. But, could it be...Urban Chaos??? (Video)

Never played it, but it's the only game like that (apart from GTA 1) that I remember from that age.

all i remember is that it is an action side-scrolling dosgame,
and you walk around with a blue laser sword thingie. and it happens in a futurisitc city.

i'm almost positive the name starts with "z", or at least a letter from towards the end of the alpha-bet.

I had that game when I was little, I don't remember much of it though...
Do you know that the film this game is based on was made by the same person who made Amélie Poulain ?

Interesting thread.

Okay, here's a long shot.
I have vague memories of a 1999-2000ish (maybe later? probably not earlier) adventure game, point and click, the type where your view is first person and you navigate pre-rendered scenes. So. This was a demo. I remember some sort of hallway where you began. You could enter various rooms, I believe. With room numbers. It was dark, almost noirish. There was some voodoo theme in one room I believe. With some voodoo woman. Or something. I could be far off. It had some criminal investigation type of name as the title of the game. Or criminal related. Maybe something about blood in the logo. It was almost a bit horrorish. Perhaps it was. That might've been the intention of the game. Look, I really don't remember : o That's why I'm asking here, my fellow MBNers.

There is one game I remember. I believe its name was "Atlantis", and I guess it must be older than from 2000 as it might have been on a diskette. I cannot find it anywhere but I'm sure I've played it on my computer back then.

Its a platform game about Atlantis. It looks like Prince of Persia, but with lots of powerups, enemy types etc, like in Super Mario platform games. I don't remember much about the game itself, all I know is the name and the general looks. Rather than the name, I'd like to get the game back again.

*Edit:
After a quick search, I think I recognize it as "The Lost City of Atlantis".
