Industry: Private sector, I guess?
Job: "Classroom assistant" at a Saturday school in classes of young children

Pros:
Very interesting.
It's rewarding working with kids when they learn from you and enjoy your company.
It's easy work for the money. Good pay for a student too...

Cons:
I can't sleep on a Saturday, need to be there by 0900.
Goes on until 1300.... most of the day gone really.
Can be annoying when you want to go out on Friday night.

Pay:
£5/hour

Side Job:
I'm a cadet... as a senior "NCO" (non commisioned officer) I teach the younger cadets in military skills and topics (stuff like skill at arms, map and compass, fieldcraft, drill (marching), etc.)

Pros:
Helps you build your character as a leader.
Rewarding when you get promoted and when those you teach learn/get promoted.
Skills you learn help you in life. Leadership, teamwork and quick thinking, to name a few...

Cons:
Don't get paid.
It goes on after school on Fridays from 1545 till like 1830.... makes going out a big rush.
Can be shitty at times when you don't get to do what you want to do.
Some people become pricks when given rank and power.

Industry: Student
Job: Senior-Level Student, Future Doctoral Candidate

Pros:
Taking classes in what you love, past the point of bullshit gen-eds.
Learning about things the average person would never bother to understand.
Involved in discussions about current events and being able to relate them to history.
Getting a shitload of cool books (albeit paying for them) that you can read.
Access to scholarly archives and journals for free.

Cons:
Quite a bit of reading.
You have to pay until you're accepted into the PhD program.
Paying for that shitload of cool books.
Stupid people.
Professors who act like they know everything.

Pay:
N/A (though once you are in the PhD program, you get a stipend, in addition to research fees and full tuition scholarship)

Side Job:
Odd Jobs - stock trading, basic computer repair/maintence, drug running, mob hits (you know, that old chestnut).

Pros:
Work whenever you want.
Easy Stuff (most people know shit about PC's, so it is easy stuff like installing a graphics card or optical drive and cleaning up the HD).
For stocks - you can make alot of money if you know what you are doing.

Cons:
Low Pay
For stocks - you can lose alot of money if you don't know what you are doing.
People that ask you to do the most insane tasks (you've been working on someones PC all day and when you go to leave they ask if you want to go to the PC store and help them buy a new one, and then come home and help them install it)
