Hi Fred,
Just another Little Big Addict wondering about LBA3. There was a small discussion at MBN about having online as a feature in LBA3, allowing for some gameplay after the actual game is completed. Most people seem to think it wouldn't work, but I wondered if you would consider this at all?
Thanks for your time,
Kit.

Hello Kit

If LBA would have online features, it would be a big part of the game. It's a completly different job to do an online game, this could not be just and after end of the game. I read also something about an open world after the end, but in the same way think that the state of all characters should need to stay coherent/credible in the whole world if you want to be able to go for a walk, meaning many more dialogs and code. Even an online minigame means too much work for an option. So let me say just no.
A full LBA Online game could worth it more. I sometimes think about it and i know that a fan is making (try to?) a non official version of it.

Frederick.
Looks like he's back.

No, because Fred hasn't asked us to. Fred's the one who calls the shots on making LBA3 happen, so I suggest you pass it by Axx to see what he thinks about the idea. Personally, I don't believe the community would be able to contribute a large enough amount to help, and fundraising and having the hole thing fallthrough, then leaves a problem of refunding everyone.

Hi just reviving this thread cause i wanted to know if anybody bar Axx still keeps emailing Fred. Do you think it's about time we started emailing him again or should we just sit back and wait for LBAwin to make it's long awaited return along with that very interesting article Axx is telling us about. What do you guys think? I mean i would email him myself but I don't want to be a pain in Freds Ass so I'm checking with you guys first

He mean't the TwinAdv.net site that Axx is reinventing.

Unfortunately, Axx doesn't seem to be very active these days either. He has studies to do, and looks like Fred's email address has vapourized because it looks like the host domain has been brought out.

Let us pray,

Our Father, who art in france,
hallowed be thy game.
Thy Sendell come,
thy will be done,
on Citadel as it is in Twinsun
Give us this day our daily LBA.
And forgive us our throwing of magic ball,
as we forgive those who stand with FunFrock against us.
And lead us not into asylum,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the sequel, the power and the glory. for ever and ever waiting.
Amen

LBA3 will happen, the question is what form.

The creative people want it made, the money people arnt there to back them up.

In our lifetime technology will change beyond our ability to predict, the singularity is the buzz word used, but the truth is there. The market for games, the cost of production, the techiques to make them....alll rapidly changeing forthe better.
At some point the creators of LBA will be in a position to make lba3.
Worse case, however, could be 20 years.

I think this is the right place, hmm.., does anybody have any way of communicating with raynal or somebody in his team?, I'd like to show my appreciation and willingness to work with such a talented group if need arises. If this fanmail thing still is functional where do I find it?..,

maybe I sound naive (I probably am naive more or less) but I'd rather try than not try.

and I just as many others starts to be skeptic about the realisation of lba3, nonetheless I hope for it to be true.

edit: (offtopic warning) wow, kinda neat to see the old stuff I made and posted on this forum a long time ago brrrr.., feels weird to see the way I behaved back then.
