LBA 3 why not lucasarts?

I saw in a previous thread that we should be contacting publishers and ask them if they would be interested with LBA3... Why wouldnt we contact Lucasarts then??

Now why Lucasarts?

As you may know, Lucasarts is known for being the publisher of Starwars , Indiana Johnes and Escape from the Monkey Island Games. They belong to the Lucasfilm group and are currently ranked #8 as game publisher. Their objective is to become #5 and eventually enter the top 3.... Publishing such a game as LBA3 with its fans and people who would remember LBA 1 and 2 would be a strong success for sure
In addition, because Lucasarts is a rich company, it would be no problem for them to buy the rights back from Adeline, or even Buy Adeline itself (there would be no problems concerning the rights then)
Not to mention that because LEC belongs to Lucasfilms, there could be a possibility that not only we see new LBA games (not only adventure games but why not RPG, or RTS) but Computer Generated Movies and Comics!!!
Afterall , Isnt LBA enough deep and develop to pass the oportunity to make a movie out of it?? I am pretty sure that Twinsen has the power to become the next Harry Potter (in terms of Phenomenon)

These are a few of all the arguments we could point to LEC...

In my humble opinion we shouldn't contact anyone. We're plain fans, it'd be rude if we contact publishers (unless Fred asked us to).

Lucas Arts stopped with adventure games afaik, it's just commercial junk like star wars now...

Oh and.. WELCOME TO THE MBN!

I meant their games are commercial junk. They don't sponsor original games anymore, just stuff they know in advance a lot of people will buy.

I hope a lot of people will buy LBA3, but it isn't a safe bet like StarWars.

Unless they work around it to make it safe like making a CG LBA movie for exemple especially since they currently want to make other games than star wars and indiana johnes games..

But I don't want LBA3 to be "safe"
LBA should be LBA.

(if I understood what you mean)

That's what happens when you make LBA safe:

No, please NO! Lucasarts have too many money for that. LBA3 needs to be made by heart. Lucas has a lot of money now and they don't care how they make games, they just make 'em! Latest lucasarts' game are nice only cos they're star wars/indiana jones related. Lucas quitted making nice games since 2000. They won't do a shit to get lba's rights.
Dont misunderstand me, im a big fan of lucasarts' games but that's how the things are.

Contact LucasArts ? Definitely, NO.

Why ? As you said it yourself : LucasArts published anthologic games such as Monkey Island serie, Indiana Jones, well, all the SCUMM related games. They can't say now that these successes didn't help them to be what they are now.

To me, LucasArts is now the Star Wars-related games publisher. Nothing else. They were going to publish Sam & Max 2, gave up. Full Throttle 2, gave up. Monkey Island 5 ? Don't even think about it.

Reasons ? "We think that Sam & Max 2 will not be sold as much we want"
Conclusion : LucasArts = money.
LucasArts won't create or publish adventure games any more.

LBA3 published by LucasArts ? Then, why wouldn't they publish Sam & Max 2 ? But they won't.

Let LBA be LBA.
