It also has Sicilia (the lighthouse) and Sardegna (the Dome) islands!!

That's very interesting... I never noticed it before. The harbour is the only thing that doesn't fit, although come to think of it it looks like reclaimed land anyway.

The Citadel even has hills at the north side (=Alpes), and the city is in the center (=Rome). You're right, why didn't we notice earlier?

nope :p

nope and guess which one it is ? it's .....

* drum rolls *

...................................

Link's country that's right, FRANCE !!!

here's the photo to convince u ( the france map is upside down so that it lies in the same direction as the desert island ... I couldn't find an upside down view of the desert so bare with me )

think of it : Citadel is Italy and Desert is France ... they are both neighbors. Plus, look at the Island of the Hacienda. It's THERE !!! observe the country/island contour if u still don't believe me I'm glad I could solve this one YAY !!!

I thought of it... But it's not obvious. I mean, what happens to the north tip ?
And the main mountains (Alpes and Pyrénées, tthey are not here), in fact there are mountains everywere.
Nah, there are a lot of countries with such shape, it could be anything...

I think it's a coincidence.
If you check other images, it's not very similar to italy:

- El_Muerte: Yeah, but those are LBA 1 images. I think quetchKiwi's point was, that the island's LBA 2 design was based on Italy.

and they thought about it so much to even ignore this island?

I may not know whether its part of Italy, but its inbetween two island they already have - you can't just simply ignore it.

- Dan2552: That would be Corsica, and it's part of France (even though it used to be part of Italy some centuries ago).

And, if Quetch is right, they didn't ignore it - its counterpart just appeared on Desert Island instead (the Island across the Hacienda).

It can't be a coincidence. Why would the hills fit the Alps ?
El - this island on the holomaps don't seem to be the Citadel island. There is no Dome island anyway on these pictures, and the shape seem to be different anyway from the citadelle island we know.
As for the other island above Sardegna, yes it's Corsica and it's a French island, while Cicilia and Sardegan are both part of Italy.
There is no doubt LBA2's Citadelle Island is inspired by Italy.
LBAs have always been inspired by many real things anyway.
I've said it and I say it again, even the voices in French are inspired by different accents. The people from desert island have Marseille's accent, while on Citadelle island the speak like in Paris. The people from zeelish have an English accent, and there are more of them that I don't recall.

Everything in LBA2 has an origin in the real world I think. Some of them might be private jokes or references.

i obscured some parts of the image 'cause they're not part of italy!
how obrasilio said, despite his geographical position Corsica is a french island and if they wanna represent italy, there were no reason to make Corsica too...

El, to me it can't simply be a coincidence: maybe on the holomap the shape is less similar, but in fact this' a sort of easter egg, making it more italy-shaped in the map would have been too "simple" to find it I think

see the attach

Edit: link, haven't seen your last post when I wrote this

What about that weird bridge island? They must've had a reason to put it there. It always did feel out of place...
