Old games you remember playing but can't remember the name of.

I know there are tons of games i remember playing on windows 95 that i cant remember the name of.
I thought i would make this thread to see if we can help each other figure out what they are.

One game in particular i remember was about a science experiment of some sorts, always reminded me of a spider in the way it looked. It was a puzzle game i think or something like that, i remember what seemed like shortbread coming in and out of the walls for you to move across while there was larva underneath.
Thats all i really remember about it.

(I'm probably at a loss with that one but its been bothering me for years. I don't blame anyone who can't work that one out lol)

There was a hovercraft game - graphics were from the beginning of the 90's, don't know the name.

Also some sort of quiz game.. It was also made in the beginning of the 90's but the graphics were somewhat pre-rendered. It was kind of cartoony and either the quiz master was kind of a weirdo or you were one out of a few players that were lined up next to each other. Anyway I've asked a million times and my parents believe it was called "After Dark" but that doesn't give me any google results.

I've got no clues about these games you say :|

I remember playing a game in which you were an alien and had to kill humans... in the first level you had to escape from the base where they held you. Graphics was probably from 95 or 97. The game was pretty much an fps in 3rd persnon.

Guys, you need to give more details, particularly on the graphics (how enemies looked like, how the player looks, even if all you can do is draw in Paint)!

I have no clue so far from any of these, but I know plenty of 90's games, even some very obscure, so I'm likely to know.

the alien game was pretty much cartoonish and very poor detailed. I remember he wore a space suit, but its head was uncovered. Orange skin. Almost looked like Earthworm Jim And he had a weird pistol... I can't remember more unfortunately

I also looked more closely on the whole quiz thing. The whole After Dark thing isn't a game, it's a collection of screen savers! Even weirder, some of them were interactive screensavers. One of them was called You Bet Your Head. I must say that for a 6 year old I've memorized this pretty well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7lt6TUIW_k

Oh, I have one of those memories.

There's this great Indiana Jones game from the late 90s. It was a full 3D game, a platformer, with awesome graphics (For its time) and the gameplay was a mix of Tomb Raider and an action adventure game (With some puzzling in between, if I remember correctly). I used to play it at a Friend's House, because he had a capable computer. We never finished it, but back then it was a great visual adventure...

Edit: Nowadays we have wikipedia and youtube! I think it was called "Indiana Jones And the infernal Machine". Here's a gameplay video.

I'm almost sure these days, I'd uninstall the game 5 minutes into it. But, oh, how awesome it was in the day.

When I was very young my father had an old PC with Win3.1 (for workgroups).
I used to play a game with 2D levels where you had to jump with a frog to collects things and then move on to the exit door. If I remember correctly the frog was only a head with a spring attached to jump. (but that last point might also be the wild imagination of a 3-4 year old boy ;-) )
Does anyone remember such a game?

At Polaris: was it maybe the original Railroad Tycoon? Great game and awesome graphics fo it's time.

If you like that type of game, let me just spam a title I worked on: Adam's Venture 2 [/shameless-self-advertisement]

Uhm... After looking very hard on the internet over the years I found out the names of pretty much all the obscure games of my childhood, such as:
-Cyril Cyberpunk = it was a platformer game about a kid with a flying skateboard and a laser gun fighting off an invasion of mutant alien Teddy bears, haha. It was pretty awesome.
-Simcopter = it was a helicopter simulator, duh. You had to perform various tasks around a city like escorting policemen to a crime scene, wounded people to the hospital, you could douse fires, tame angry mobs of people with smoke or exhilarating gas and other stuff I can't remember, it was surprisingly entertaining for my tastes. The reason I remember it so well though is because when you got on board of your helicopter the "ride of the valkyries" music played, I still think that's both hilarious and badass

Maaan, simcopter is so awesome, The feeling to be able to fly all around, so cool ! And true, surprisingly, actually playing the game and not just flying around was also very fun
and that music, so true, badass !
Have you ever succeeded to fly out of the map ? I often tried, but always got bored after a while and ended quitting...

SimCopter also let you import your own citys.

I think there was also a racing game in the franchise too that did the same.

Didn't...

I remembered of a chess game, maybe with VGA colors, where after selecting a piece and it's destination, the piece would go there with an animation (I specially remember the rook growing hands and legs and walking heavily). The view was somehow in a 3D perspective (not from above).

I remember Lego Chess, but that was clearly Lego pieces doing the moving. The other chess game I remember was one where you played the Nobles, Princess, Prince, Queen and King, and it was supposed to be a very advanced AI because the King would get in moods if you started beating him or losing badly to him and play accordingly. The Queen was better at chess than the King, but the King was the one that you really wanted to beat, and if you played chess with the King the Prince and Princess would copy their father's moves. I was almost too young to be playing chess properly at the time, but I remember my sister playing it and beating the King with Scholar's Mate, then being reluctant to play him again because she could continue beating the Prince and Princess.

Oh heres a weird one. I was gonna mention sonething about it earlier but didn't know if anyone would remember it or recognize it so I didn't bother but what the hell. I think I was called novastrom. It was like you were flying a ship in space and had to attack certain ememies.. and there were bosses... I could be totally off about all this but does anyone think the name sounds familiar?
I might be crazy...but I swear i used to play some thing like this. It came with my windows 95 just like lba2 did.
