Lol fixed it. I thought I had most of em right lol.
I'm way more familiar with lba2.

But that's a good idea for them to have their own frame colors.

If all characters had a frame, in both LBA1 and LBA2, a complete listing of both game's characters can be made. This is what I'm looking for for the knowledgebase (idea I'm working on).

Wouldn't it have been cool if fred made an easter egg of himself in either of the LBA games?

Anyways, meat Frederick Raynal! He is - Whatever, you already know who he is.

This was taken at Fred's GDC. I think it is awesome he went to my state I am living in for his GDC. I live in California, and he went to San Francisco in California for his GDC!

I am sad that I wasn't able to attend it, though.
Seeing it on Youtube by Gamespot was awesome enough though.
Being there, though, you would be able to see him in person.
Have any of you seen Fred in person?
I was in school, and I was busy. So I couldn't attend his GDC.
I should ask this also. Do you need to be a certain age to attend GDCs? Also, do you need a sheet for permission, card, or something?

Anyways, this is a good thread. I have other things to do right now.
I can't wait for all of your responses.
I never seen Fred in Chicago. I have no idea if he's been here or not.

And GDCs? You'd be lucky if you could get in at your age. Most are only for 18+. I'm guessing due to the fact that people will be drinking and its not really an environment for 15 year olds (unless your parents or someone of legal age and consent accompanies you). But you going alone? Not gonna happen. Especially during certain events/hours of the day. Not only that, but an all access pass will run you a few thousand dollars, $1500 -$2000. Passes to only specific events will be cheaper. $150-$1500 depending on what it is your wanting to do/see there.

And as for, "has anyone seen Fred in person?" .. Axx knows him. I wouldn't recommend bugging him about 'Fred/LBA remake/3 info', though.

I mean don't ask Axx. Axx has already asked Fred about the potential remake and sequel but to no avail.

I'm sure if Axx obtains additional information from Mr. Raynal regarding LBA, we will be the first to know.

I am not saying I can't control myself, I would be so respectful if I were at Fred's GDC. I mean, seriously respectful. I am talking like taking notes, watching the whole time, not disrupting the conference, listening to every single word spoken. Seriously, I love Fred, and he will stay awesome.

Anyways, I saw your rabbibunny, looks awesome. Now draw the rabbibunny in the Hacienda. Also, does the rabbibunny have a piercing in her belly button???

Talk to you later.
No problem.

And which Rabbibunny in the Hacienda? The old wiseman, the one in bandages sitting by the drunk, or the female in the steamroom? (I assume you mean the female in the steamroom due to my last drawing also being female; and you've shown this same bunny in the 'screenshot competiton' thread.)
I sort of promised SGK I'd draw him the Space Guitarist and am still working on coloring the bunny I've already drawn. I just haven't had a whole lot of spare time lately.

Oh, and no piercing.. I always draw that line going upwards from the navel.. to define a 'female' abdomen a bit without making her look too.. 'ripped'..

The pharmacist and Carlo appear in LBA1?? I don't remember (or noticed) that!

About the rest of the characters of LBA1, I think there are few of them left... I could make them. The only one I can think of now is Baldino from LBA1, who looked just like any other grobo.

There is a pharmacist, but it's not the same person. It's the same model as the nurse.

Yup. Polaris is right. There's a pharmacist in LBA 1 but he's a Quetch and male. And Carlo is wearing blue in LBA 1 and not green/red like he is in LBA 2.

I'll save the pics in my archive for you, and will happily add any new ones.

I hope I can put the idea together. It would be really nice to have a character overview. But I'm waiting for some mod responses.

You know what? I lied. Shame on me.
He is only in lba2. Oops... he supposedly appears twice in lba 2 as two different characters. Guess that's what confused me.
*sorry about that Salvatoor* XD

Hmm.. I'm not sure who all has been made already..
Oh I've always liked Rick's giant Wannie bodyguards from LBA 2. Especially the dark brown one with the red hair guarding Rick's door. Nobody ever talks about those guys though lol.

Oh no problem, yeah, there's two Carlos in LBA2... An honet mistake is not a lie!

Something I was wondering is, where can you find Raph's girlfriend (the one with red and green dress and umbrella) in any moment before freeing Raph? Because I saw some quotes of her in the old waxo where she says that her boyfriend is missing, but I never found her anywhere before freeing Raph

McKalling, are you working in some kind of character database or something?

I think shes standing by the bench behind the lighthouse. If I remember correctly. I'll try to double check real fast, but I think that's where you can find her.

And thanks lol

EDIT: I just checked. She's behind the lighthouse by the bench like I had thought.

Aye, I'm compiling information to form a Knowledgebase about the two games. I know a lot, and I thought I should do something with it. Before this thread, I already figured an overview of characters would be great to include, but I hadn't thought about using their portrait frames yet.

Below, the list of current character frames I now have collected:
LBA1:
Code:
Bob Vortix
Fisherman
Funky Rabbibunny
Lieutenant Grap
Colonel Kroptman
Mies
Rabbibrunette
Mies' father
Raymond
Sailor Lanktir
LBA2:
Code:
Grobos: Mr Bazoo, Bob, Paul
Quetches: Carlo (desert), Brother (that tough guy)
Rabbibunnies: Miss Brune, Chedil Amiradoo, Felix, Old Wiseman, Pat, Pharmacist, Rector, Scooter, Teacher, Twinsen's Neighbour, Umbrella Thief
Spheros: Racer
Francos: Franckie, Franco Dissident (looks like a ring master), Kurtz, Roger's Brother, Survivor (from Island CX)
Wannies: Wannie Dissident, Johnny (with red toy)
What I already had:
Code:
Rabbibunnies: Bunny (school of magic assistant), Tim, Weather wizard (whats his name), Raph (lighthouse keeper), Raph's wife
Quetches: Dark Monk, Manu (worker guy below at the bagage claim), Tabata (female wizard), Twinsen, Twinsen Suited, Zoé
Grobos: Baldino, Baldino Suited, Artisti (the fool at school of magic), Luc (from the bar at Citadel island), Miss Bloob (from museum)
Spheros: Anatol (old jeux de boule guy), Bruce (guitarist), Fab (I think the Temple Cart conductor guy), Leone (the umbrella woman)
Wannies: Miner, Annie (the maid), Petit (fire-fly catching Johnny), Ferryman
Francos: Captain (guy with baloonship), Molette (repair guy at Emerald Moon), NLune (frustrating spear guy), Paratrooper, Valenti (bomb thrower)
Sups: Emperor, Johnny Rocket, Rick, SBI (yellow secret agent)
Mosquibees: big guy (from the blowtron test), Loumin (I think he's a dissident), Soldat (green generic guy), Reine (the queen)
Creatures: Chuette (robot owl), Duam (brown runner dog thing from casino), Fishbu (green level pitbull), Lemuza (lizard thing from casino), Schmou (yellow ginea pig), Vache (cow), Leopold (camel), Tralu, Dino-fly
Otherworldly beings: Sendell, Joe the elf, Money Monkey, Orc (that guy protecting secret passage), Patrick (casino aligator with black jacket), Adelai (small zeelich visitor), George (kangaroo on Celebration Island)
Note some of these names were the original (I think french) names that were included in the filenames of the images, and may not be familiar, so I added notes.
Only Johnny is now double, but one is with the toy and one with the fly net.
There are still some dummy characters missing though, if we want to list everyone. Can't think of all the ones.

Nice collection, but how about a Gloom and Monster category?

Btw it's "Raph" instead of Ralph.

I separated some of the characters into "creatures" and "otherworldly beings" just to be able to enlist them here without a big wall of text, and it isn't in any way a sorting proposal.

If you think there is significant material for more categories, all right
What should go in Gloom, and what in Monster?

We now have a Knowledgebase, so as soon as I get to it, I will put this listing in there.

Yess I understand, and do think there is enough material for more categories.
The Glooms, are the Crocs on Zeelich, it's a race and there are a lot of them, especially on Otringal.

Monsters; like, The Tralu, Money Monkey, Orc with Sword @ mosquibee village.

It's definitely good to split off a monsters category.

The current list in the KB also shows attackable monsters that don't have a unique appearance, like the franco spear guys. There are more of those, like the franco red laser soldiers and the garbagecan/cactus Sups. They aren't specific characters for the storyline, but dummy enemies. They should go in a separate category or have some sign in the TOC to denote their hostile nature.

But for the sake of the knowledgebase, I think we should put our effords in filling in the blanks first rather than breaking our heads over what goes in which category right now. We can think about that later, and I can easily change the lists.

A lot of that info can be found here in the Wiki I started some time ago, which could be considered a knowledge base in itself:

http://lba.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Characters

Couldn't this knowledge base be part of the wiki? I think it would be better organised and there wouldn't be scattered redundant info in separated sites.

Also, I think "powelevel(s)" won't be possible to apply for linke 99% of the characters. Maybe it could be part of the description or something

Is that wiki hosted by the MBN?
Usually, a wiki provides only official information, and mostly objective information.

And for the lack of an appropriate space, some of us had the need to put together all of our (subjective) knowledge about the game. We're still working on it, and I'd gladly accept your feedback. Something about powerlevels I can do with, but I do not have the ability to move, replace or transform the Knowledgebase.

If you think that some X website contains a lot of information too, why not add it to the KB? Then we'd have the most complete set of information

I do think we must host this ourselves though. Anything external isn't going to work unless it falls under the same administration.

It's not hosted by the MBN. I try to keep info as objective as possible, but subjective info can always be added as long as it's mentioned that it is not entirely supported or proven.

I just thought that the wiki format would make a knowledge base more organized visually, give the possibility of editing the different articles through time and by different people, and give the chance of navigating through the articles more comfortably.

The wiki didn't have much success though, at least in convincing people to participate... I had hoped more people would join in to end up with a very complete set of info...

Something interesting to add to the knowledge base on some of the characters would be their family, I recently implemented a category in the wiki's character infobox, where there's all the known relatives of that person.

True, but the nature of a wiki remains objective. Some major parts of the KB that I have in mind consist of pure subjective information, like Challenges. So could you think of a way to combine these?

Yes, the editing by multiple people is still an issue, and in fact, I'm having a conversation about it with Darkflame right now. I know a wiki would be better in some ways, but I sincerely think we must host the space ourselves. I've seen the Encyclopedia Twinsunica site, and it has become a total loss just because we had no access to it. I never want to repeat that kind of situation ever again, so if it becomes a wiki, it must be under the domain of the MBN.

I have two people who're helping me now, and I know it is a challenge on its own to set everything up, but we're dedicated and have no deadline. I see the KB grow every day, evolve in design every time, and become more complex in linking aswell. If you think it should go faster, or want to help, you're welcome to. At this point, I think gathering all of the information is of lower priority than actually adding entries holding the info though, so we can add additional or expanding info later on. Whether this info comes from our own experience or from other sites, I don't care. As long as we have a solid base.

I'd like to do that too. Not every character has family relations defined though, so it'd be additional information like the current "alternate name" header. If you like, you can add characters yourself and specify it, or PM a list of changes so one of us can edit existing entries.

Concerning a wiki in general, I like your idea. It would probably be far better managable than on a forum like this, as a wiki is specialized in this kind of information. However my choice to use a forum was out of necessity, and emergency. We're in dire need of a complete overview about all of the stuff we're talking about, and I thought a forum would be easy to start with. I'm not adamant on keeping it there though, if at some point in the (near) future a different place with better management options comes available, or if you could come up with a plan, and if it is hostable under the MBN, I would take the opportunity.
