The story and ideas of gameplay have been written. But it's a rather complicated story, which is mainly that Frédérick Raynal hasn't got the rights to work on LBA3, as well as that the people he made LBA1 and 2 with are in an other company than him. They seem to have had some difference of opinions.

No, Fred still keeps the story secret because all hope for LBA3 is not lost. And it would be a pity if we already knew the story then!
(also, someone else could steal his story.)

If Fred does like he says and surfs the forum unbeknownst to us, he might even take some ideas that we come up with

Actualy he does that Frederick's personal e-mail is currently hidden as well. When his f4-toys e-mail will be established we can ask.

Frederick and Didier only got so far as writing down the LBA story and deciding all the improvements etc. This was right after LBA2 was completed and they didn't actually get on to creating the game because at the time Delphine was selling Adeline to SEGA...grrr..

Although I wouldn't say that Adeline being under Sega's control is that bad of a deal. Sega is a well known and respected game developer who has shown us great things in the past, and now, since they're no longer competing with Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft, they can focus on their games. BTW- Why doesn't Fred want to work for Adeline? Am I missing something (I'm apologizing ahead for my ignorance.)?

Fred doesn't want to work with Adeline because he's supposedly fallen out with Phillipe Vachey and Didier Chanfray over pay, and who should have the rights to the game.

The result being is that they all went their separate ways, and have been too preoccupied to make things up.

Morden

There was an argument not so long ago about NoCliché investment between Didier and Fred. Originally, Fred was meant to join Didier in ressurecting Adeline, but since Fred had already invested a large amount of money into NoCliché, it would be a waste leaving it. This apparantly, caused some dispute leaving the two apart and on their own ways. Vachey seems to be neutral and was caught in the whole issue.

Theoretically speaking, couldn't Adeline "buy out" F-4 toys and gain both Fred and the rights? Or vice versa?

I don't think Fred's company is on the stock market, and he probably won't except a direct by out unless its a lot of money

And just because you buy a company, there's no guarantee that the people in it will stay.

True. However, if somehow chanfrey and raynal could agree to maybe make a contractual partnership between F-4 toys and Adeline (I'm not sure of either's positions or status' with either company. Fred would be what? Owner/President? And what is Chanfrey to adeline?), with no money exchanged, just simple contractual obligations (i.e. a game titled Little Big Adventure III will have a finalized script by xx/xx/xxxx. All actual game development will be finished by xx/xx/xxxx, etc.) to create and finish LBA (or any other game), maybe a one time only contract for LBA only?

Also- whatever company breaches the contract will lose forever the rights to LBA and its likenesses. Or maybe a clause guaranteeing Fred full copyright on LBA after the new game is completed with a clause stating any future products would be adeline approved?

Indeed, think about it this way. In 1997 many of Adeline's old members left to Dark Works. Do you think they returned to Adeline after the company was revived? No, because were they going to leave successfull DarkWorks just to come back to their old, poor Adeline. So much for old company loyalty It's all because of the money.

Besides, there's no way Adeline could buy F4-toys or vice-versa. Firstly, because they can't afford it. Secondly, because they're too busy in their own projects.

Like Double-J said, It would be great to see a partnership between the two companies, except they seem to want to go their own ways now and don't want to talk to one another.
