lba secrets

I just discovered in the TV-thread a spoiler. And it was already known in 2003.

So I guess we should just make a definite "did you know" list.

What are the juiciest weird facts and secrets of lba 1 and 2?

I'l start; in lba 1 you can airdance by turning left or right in the middle of a jump. Keep turning and you will never fall back to the floor

Here's my contribution, I don't think it was ever mentioned before.
In LBA2 if you hold the fire key and then also hold jump, twinsen's attack animation will freeze until you stop pressing the jump key. Now, if you turn around using the arrow keys while "frozen" other nearby characters models will start glitching out. It has no real use, but I think it's kinda cool.
Did anyone know this one?

I'm not sure how many people have seen these:

Basically to see them you have to return to Citadel Island with your wizard's tunic. I have no idea why they only appear then.

Hm, I never DID try to use the Horn of the Blue Triton on them. There's 3. And as far as I remember, they disappear as soon as you leave the scene. You really need to go there just after returning from Desert Island.

I did find those blue shells once when playing as a kid but didn't realize which conditions made them appear. Wonder why they're here in the first place and only during that very specific period of time...

Horn of the blue triton should be tried out on them..Anyone? I'm replaying lba1 now and have not started with 2 just yet.

ps; any cool tricks to try on lba1? I heard there's some cool twisted stuff you can do in lba2 to mess up the time you do things but never tried it on both games.

I think I tried the horn, but as far as I remember it didn't do anything. Worth another try though...
Sadly no, I don't have any LBA1 tricks LBA2 is the one I played the most, over and over and over, so I discovered more tricks and glitches xD

- Use the clear water to fix Principal Island's water supply and then go back to the rabibunny librarian.
- Let the guard in the Fortress Island prison activate the red switch that calls the White Supergro and see what happens.

Of course, one trick you can always try is following the instructions you get on how to find the treasure on Proxima Island. (Walk left 10 steps etc., in the book about LeBorgne). You NEED to do this on your first time arriving to Proxima Island, or it won't work.

Oh I know that one!
yeah that one is really cool.

I just tried using the megapinguin to not need the statue in the temple, but he only stood on it very an instant xD

How about this, is it doable to do the hamalayi raid without destroying the radar?

YES!!! I was looking for that shell FOR YEARS! I remember that my friend that sold me LBA2 CD in 1999 told me about an evil shell that attacked you. I didn't believe him. After 5 years or so he wasn't even sure if it really existed. I don't communicate with this guy anymore, and I believe that he thinks that real life is more interesting than "3d elephants" (but I don't think so), but now I know he was talking the truth!
By the way, I was sure that the shell resides on Desert island somewhere in the White Leaf Desert.

Is the white leaf desert another name for desert island or is it a special area within desert island?

I'm still pissed off they did not include the whole planet twinsun on the game :\
that's why I always wanted a lba3...

White Leaf Desert is the desert area on the Desert Island (outside the city)

Yes. I didn't find the radar in my first playthrough and it worked out fine.

Lightbulb Skipping the Temple of Bu 2

Everyone knows about the Penguin trick! But do you know about this?

You can skip the jumping/lever portion in the 3rd screen of the Temple of Bu in the first game by investigating the area where the first boulder drops down to. It should be a small section accessible by jumping over spikes or by following the boulder. I'll provide a picture to show what I mean...

Rather than dealing with the levers, you can climb the portion of the spikes hidden by the wall. Use it to simple jump up and you won't have to ride platforms or jump to hit levers/throw your ball. No one who has sped-run the game has utilized this trick yet, from what I can see.

Well I have known of this bug for a long time, but I don't know how many people have payed attention to it. When hacking the games files with LBA Modification Tools, we found out that the developers simply forgot to make that portion of the spikes hurt you. (Can be seen with the latest version of LBArchitect in Scene Mode)

We're a bit crazy looking at every corner of the game like that.
