Yay

Maybe we should summarize somewhere the whole history of moderators on this forum, just for clarity.

Could you explain the purpose of that? I mean, why do we need to keep such records?

A history of MBN moderators

In the beginning there were no moderators, only El_Muerte as a sole administrator. When the forum grew and expanded, the need for additional moderators came. In February 2001, four moderators were appointed: wacko, Atresica, Simon and Neko (then known as Jesse).

Some time during 2002 Simon quit the job, and in the middle of 2003 Jesse left too. A very short time after that, Darkflame was made moderator.

With the switch to vBulletin 3 in December 2003, a few changes were made; Darkflame was promoted to administrator, and ChaosFish was appointed as an additional moderator. A short time after that, wacko quit the job too.

When Atresica and Darkflame left for a few weeks in 2005, Gustav Sweden and Lightwing were made temporary moderators. The "temporary" was later changed to "permanent".

In February 2006 ChaosFish left the job, and about a year later I was appointed.

In short, the current moderators are:
El_Muerte (adminstrator)
Darkflame (adminstrator)
Atresica
Gustav Sweden
Lightwing
morshem

Ex-moderators are:
Simon
Neko (Jesse)
wacko
ChaosFish

Hope I didn't forget anything

You failed to mention the greatest niche forum mod, me. I'm insulted.

I think we should get rid of this thread entirely, because it offends me.

I'm one of the mods for the Prequel forum(s) here.

And by "niche," I mean a specialized forum (i.e. not a general mod).

Quote:
niche (nch, nsh)
n.
1. A recess in a wall, as for holding a statue or urn.

2. A cranny, hollow, or crevice, as in rock.

3.
a. A situation or activity specially suited to a person's interests, abilities, or nature: found her niche in life.
b. A special area of demand for a product or service: "One niche that is approaching mass-market proportions is held by regional magazines" Brad Edmondson.

4. Ecology
a. The function or position of an organism or population within an ecological community.
b. The particular area within a habitat occupied by an organism.
tr.v. niched, nich·ing, nich·es
To place in a niche.

[French, from Old French, from nichier, to nest (from Vulgar Latin *ndicre, from Latin ndus, nest; see sed- in Indo-European roots) or from Old Italian nicchio, seashell (perhaps from Latin mtulus, mussel).]

Thanks. It's a good thing we live in a free forum where everybody can throw about their opinions without fear.

But remember that I haven't been unmodded yet. Which means that I can seriously $#@$#@ you up and hack you bank account. Ehehe. It's the simple things in life you enjoy.

I am very afraid of you.
Please don't hack my bank account.

Your post reminded me of a time we made fun of you on #lba for making a similar (i'm a mod and therefore have a big penis) post.

How come you're quitting anyway?

Well that was uncalled for. Big penises are a genetic problem for many people as it restricts their mobility and what they can wear to the beach. It's not something that's easily changed either, unless you can cash in huge amounts of $$$ for a plastic surgery. And well, excuuuuuuse me if I'm not Pamela Anderson.

I'm sorting out the paper work. Darkflame said he'd get it done in no time - 2 days.

He's such a champ! I can't wait. It's about time I've had a new promotion anyway.

Lighty, despite the fact that we disagreed on a few occasions, I do think you were a fine mod. Sorry to see you stepping down.

Moving on to new business, are their plans to fill that moderator position? If so, I have an idea which some may find interesting.

What? You were serious?

I was about to come with several objections, but come to think about it as long as morshem is super-moderator we are having a fluent moderation.

I doubt they will, after a long period of only having two moderators (which seemed to be enough) there are still three left.

Actually, Atresica isn't active at all any more. And Gustav is also hardly active (only 3 posts this month). El and Darkflame are still here though.

I understand. I just figured it would be the opportune time for a suggestion I was thinking of awhile back, but never mentioned.
