Lol, if I was going to Poland because for the scenery I'd be spending no more than a day before moving onto a better looking place .

No but of course I'm going over to see family and family friends, my entire family above me i.e of the generations before me, were born in Lodz as were all their friends so funnily enough, that where I'll be spending most of my time .

Whereabouts in warsaw u live Jareth? Don't think I'll be hanging around there for too long this time though, looks like I'll be spending it all in Lodz when I'm not going to be in the Alps . And btw, what's your real name, Jareth must have a Polish spelling. Jarek maybe?

I live on "New Bemowo"

And no, I'm nor "Jarek". Another person, who takes my nickname as my real name First was Kitarii, he thought my nem is really Jareth. My real name is *pam**pam**pam* Chris

O Kurwa, Krzysiek!
Or were you given a straight english name?

Hmm looked it up on google maps and a hell of a lot of places lit up .

Still looks like its not too far from the airport. It looks like all the main roads lead to this "New Bemowo", lol.

Nah, just Krzysiek

Just type Bemowo on google maps and if you find Powstancow Slaskich, go by this road to the north, you should find Piastow Slaskich. I live near, on the right side of Powstancow Slaskich

Ah, found the airport properly, it's in the other direction it seems. Also a decent detour from Lodz, also in the opposite direction.

Omg! There's normal houses there! I swear to god I've not seen so many houses that aren't flats in a row in Poland
I assume you live in one of those flats though? Looks like a nice area

Would definitely consider dropping by for my Euro 2012 visit .

Yeah, I live in a flat, but I like it. It's new and we have security xD
Also, if you check out Kabaty, you'll find many normal houses. There are also many flats, even more, than in the whole Warsaw. (counting without Kabaty, ofc. It wouldn't make any sense ) xD

Hehe, nice .

One thing I couldn't stand about flats though is the neighbours are directly below/above you. No music, no running, and most certainly no instruments in the house. They're bound to be cranky old pensioners who want to live the rest of their life in peace and quiet, without being able to understand other people have lives to live

Otherwise, I don't really mind the cosiness of it, anything works well if you adapt to it.

Security in a flat? Well I'll be damned .

And where is Jasiek and the rest of the Poles? Most of the rest aren't regulars in this area anymore but I thought that the title might encourage them to have a look...

Warsaw, secure neighbourhood... you bourgeoisie bastard!

Lodz huh? Well you should go sight seeing anyway. There are some superb castles to see. Also Krakow - I hate the people there, but the old town is really nice. Wroclaw is another place to see I guess. Gdansk too. Only thing to see in Katowice (where little ol' me lives) is a shitload of modernist architecture, one of the biggest concentrations of 20's architecture in the world. And some other industrial places. Unless you're an architecture whore not really worth the trip though.

Yeah, my neighbourhood is secured . I don't have the problem with my neighbours. I often play very loud on my guitar, listen to loud music and no one gives a shit about it. ^^

Are things that bad that you need to live in neighborhoods with security?

Well tis true, and yes, lo and behold, I have returned.

Before I said it was a shame it was so short, but I take that back, it was a mistake to go for so short, I'm gonna miss that place like no other till next time sadly... . Dammit I wish we had some sort of culture in Aus, its just nowhere to be found sadly... Can't wait to become rich and incfredibly mobile [/dream]

But really, its a nice place, despite the fact its a bit of a... well communism leftovers place, I really enjoyed it . Ignorance is bliss, and I think its safe to add to that list that riches sure as hell don't bring happiness, simplicity is good. Europe is awesome, can't wait to have a proper Euro trip .
