Running LBA2 under WinXP without problems

I have the original CD of LBA2 EU multi-language version. I installed LBA2 from autorun screen after inserting CD. After that i was hoping it would run with np but unfortunately it simply stated "insert your cd into you drive". Well I did not want to monkey around with it so I had copied whole content of CD to the LBA2 directory and I applied no-cd patch (well i know its not very popular thing around here.... but it works) I didnt apply any other patch. I was quite surprised it runs great... no graphics, sound, animation, car problems. Well I wont post the adress of that patch coz of obvious reasons. It's not very legal and it can be easilly misused by ppl who dont have the original version of the game. I am just posting this for ppl who have the original game and they experience any problems while running it.
System info:
Acer TravelMate 273LC
Intel Pentium 4 1.7 GHz Mobile
SiS 650 integrated graphics card
AC97 compatible sound card
Noname CDRW/DVD drive

I dont think so... the CD is just fine. Generally these cd checking problems are quite annoying and often if you are trying to play older games on nowdays comps.

If you have another CD drive, you can try inserting it there.

- dave: About the CD check, are you sure you didn't fool around with the LBA2.CFG file and by accident change the Version variable to something other, than 3 (3 = LBA 2, Electronic Arts, all others are Twinsen's Odyssey, so they require the TO CD instead of the LBA 2 one, so they don't find the CD, if it's the European one)?
