LBA featured in PC Gamer top 100

I think some of you may have seen this already, but when I was in the Uk, recently, I bought a copy of PC Gamer and since it was their 100th issue they did their top 100 game awards for around 1994 games up till 2001. LBA was one of the games on their list at number 70 (not bad for a 7 year old game), but they kindof messed up the description....anyway I scanned the section where LBA, see what you think...

Here's what it says (right-side text first)

French quirkiness has resulted in a panoply of odd PC games. Among such a distinguished background of clever gallic weirdness, Little Big Adventure stands out. It was funny strange and oddly beautiful. Some of the action was based around driving in odd little cars, although the racetrach sequence really had nothing on Grand Prix 3. LBA had quite a fan base at the time and even now the internet is littered with digital shrines to this little fragment of gaming wonder.

The left side (where the guy's standing) reads:

Little Big Adventure - Truly bizzare yet tres chic, the squeaky voiced hero, Twinsen, looked like a Tibetan monk on speed and was trapped in a futuristic authoritarian world of big brother elephant guards and mistreated rabbits (big brother elephants, mistreated rabbits?!), with only a magical yoyo to protect him. Sneaking on tiptoe was accompanied by a hilarious panto-style bass-plucking, we seem to remember

Looks like they kindof put LBA1 and 2 into the same description, anyway at least it is still remembered as a great game...

But I think we should ask where they bought that version of LBA, looks like a totally different game. But what the heck, if it's LBA, it's cool.

Actualy the PC gamer people know what there talking about, they wrote an excelent guide to LBA when it first came out. They made it into a kind of story, told from the first person.

I think they either have a bad memory, or a sense of

Keds- The best brittish games magazine is EDGE, its far more accurate then other games magazines. And they actualy write about games, rather then just showing 100's of screenshots.
The best games jornalists are probably the people who do Teletext Digitaliser pages. They ADMIT there drunk & lazy and get everything wrong. (and they seem to be the only place giving honest reviews of PS2 games).

It seems as if they got the two LBA games mixed up because there's no way that there was a racetrack in LBA1! But the part that pissed me off was the Yo-yo and the mistreated rabbits, now HTF are those things rabbits, yes they are called rabbibunnies but they certainly dont look like rabbits!!

I've not purchased a PC magazine for a while, but yes, Edge is the best. I had PCZONE in mind when I mentioned about journalists rating themselves. Don't get me wrong, it's a good read - very amusing, but some of the writters seem to think awfully highly of themselves.

I've not read too many PC Gamers, although I seem to have a great many cover CD's somehow.

No 65: Twinsen's Odyssey (They regard LBA 2 as superior to lba 1)

For some reason Twinsen's continuing Little Big Adevnture draws you into its world and makes you wonder whats really over the next kooky hill. Interestin chatracters, unique setting and ejoyable play all help..

This is depite the review score of 84% they gave it in 1997. They obviously liked it..

I'm not surprised they gave it such a high rating....considering the beautiful worlds and the good graphics at the time....LBA 1 was still better though!
