Just install both installers in a clean directory, do not overwrite old version of the game.

Great now the setup doesn't allow me simply installing it again somewhere else.
You should never work with registry data for something that updates so quickly. I just want to install it to a different directory, but all it gives me is "repair" and "remove".

This installer is standard windows stuff, I did not made it myself. Just try to remove the previous installation first then.

Doesn't help that the LBANet Images installer crashed when I selected the folder, of all things.

Do not want.

Any possibility you can hand out proper archives in the future?

Lol you are just not lucky it looks like, both installer were working properly when i tried them.

Then just copy your Bricks folder from an old version of the game to your new installed copy, the image did not change anyway.

I don't really like installers. It's easier to update and install without them imo.

Since version v0.5 the game no longer works on Win7 64bit.Same problem RobG was talking about.

Well I actually created those installers because I tought it would be easier for people to install the game.
But actually I do not mind and since it seems to cause a lot of trouble we can also do it the old way this is the same for me.

So here is the old style type of install for v0.5:

Funny, I have the same problem, I copied the images from the previous version, but LBANet crashes right at the beginning.

I just installed using the old method(from the rar archives) and now it works like before in win7

Probably there was something missing from the installers.

Then lets just forget those installers.
I will remove them from download and mirror the archive in google code website since the download is faster from there.

So for anybody having trouble please try a fresh install using the rar archives.

If you compare the time that Rincevent spends on game development with the time he spends on creating an installer / archives, I'm pretty sure that the latter takes almost no time at all. (other than uploading with of course is time-consuming)

As Kobold just said, once the game is compiled, putting the whole stuff in an archive or creating an installer out of it is not really an issue.

Talking about that, now you can find both installers and archives on the google code page of the lbanet project:
http://code.google.com/p/lbanet/downloads/list

And it is also a good time to say that the whole source code for the server and the client parts have also been released there.
The source code has been released under the GNU public licence for those interested.

But hey, maybe you should have an overview on that download page, so that newcomers dont get scared by the "file-tree", cause it´s not easy to know what to download and what to do with it, just a tip

Hmm. The installation works fine. It's when I run the game. I don't appear to have a LBAClient.log, so I guess it doesn't even make it far enough to generate that.

This is the first version of the game I am trying on win7. I was previously running it fine on Vista 64bit.

EDIT: Ooops, missed this whole page. Ok, I will try with the non install version.

Hi guys,

Here is a new release v 0.52 - content:
- added automatic patcher program - run it once in a while to get latest version of the game
- fixed bugs 0000190 0000157 0000188 0000248 0000251 0000249 0000246 0000253 of the bugtracker
- added a few more missing exits to the game

Once installed try to run "Update Lbanet" from the program menu in order to automatically patch your game to the latest version.
(or "Lbanet/patch.bat" for those using the archive)
The first time you run the patcher program you will be asked to do a complete check, just enter yes then.
The first patch might take a while to execute but it will be much faster at next patch.

Just installed the patch and everything is working great.
Only one thing happens, my configurations (username, character body) were deleted. Its supposed to be that way?

Keep up the good work. Will check later what exactly where the bug fixes.
