Hey ! Great work !
a quick note : When setting up perspective matrix projection, did you check horizontal / vertical aperture angles is egual to window width/height ? look at second argument of this function : gluPerspective(camera->fov,w()/(double)h(),0.1,1000); it really looks like you use factor 1 in second argument. J'espère que ça te seras utile ![]() |

You were right David, I messed up with the second argument, it was indeed set to one.
I modified it, here is a screenshot of the corrected view, it looks like much less squized than before! Thanks for pointing that out ![]() |

I've tried the game. The camera still needs improvement, 'cause the game textures are not made for an angle like that. Also, when you start to walk or run, Twinsen needs a second or two to start moving.
The engine itself looks good and works pretty good. I'll continue to search for bugs. |

I attached to this message a new config file to connect to the server.
If you want to try the multiplayer part of the game, just replace the config.client file of the game directory by this new file in the zip. I will usually have my computer open during the evening with the server running on it, so you can try it out and tell me if that works fine for you. (It means if you try to connect between 20:00 and 00:00 gmt+1 it should work) Last edited by Rincevent_123; 2009-07-02 at 00:52. |

Can you give us the executable with the fixed display as well or are you still working on it?

I will do a new release before the end of the week.
This release will come with the fixed display and the fixed physic engine but also I hope with a nice surprise. ![]() |

Maybe there should be a feature showing who's online right now.
And talking in a different channel shouldn't be case-sensitive. The command /world doesn't work, only /World does. |

It is in the planning, also it won't be in the next release.
As for the not case sensitive channels thats a good idea, I will see if a can integrate that change. |

Well it's pretty nice. All the holes in the stairs and the papery nature of the trees still bugs me a bit, I hope that can be fixed somehow.
I like the fact that all the outside scenes are visible at once. It really shows you how much LBA 2 stayed true to the LBA 1 representation. One problem I see is when you die, you respawn all the way back at the Citadel entrance no matter where you fell into the water. Except for Twinsen's house, you can't enter any other house, is that right? Also, you can't exit the house again, or go into the cellar. Oh and I love the surprise mode. ![]() |

What would be pretty cool was if you made new insides to explore in doors that weren't originally useable in LBA... If that makes sense.

Well currently Twinsen's house is the LBA 2 version of the house, despite the outside being the LBA 1 version. In fact, it's the LBA 1 scenes from the ending with everything decorated.
I think with the new XML-style files and an appropriate editor for them, it will be fairly easy to expand the game. |

You mean it's the LBA2 tiles and everything? How did you manage that?
#39
Well, inside LBA 2 scenes (grids) work exactly the same way as all LBA 1 scenes (aka grids) and can already be edited with LBArchitect for a long time. In fact, LBA 2 inside scenes (grids) have the best modification tools of anything in LBA 2 at the moment.

"Procedure entry point freeaddinfo could not be located in dll WS2_32.dll"
Seems this wont run on Windows2000. Any chance you could adjust it?; http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...31(VS.85).aspx Quote:

Great thing you've done in the new Version!
I especially like the fact that you can walk on the whole Island and the new displaying technique which is already hiding many of those ugly black holes. As you asked for it I have tried to make a Logo for LBA-Net It's only simple vector because I hadn't got much time to do some "shiny things" hope you like it anyway.Spoiler: By the way, the Planet Twinsun is made by Hoadrim. The plug is own work ![]() |

Hi there,
As kobold correctly said, now the engine is capable to read LBA1 maps as well as LBA2 maps. The good thing is that you can just put them together in the order you want. In the example world I created, I have LBA2 twinsen house linked to LBA1 citadel map. Actually you could do even more complicated stuff, it is now possible to mix LBA1 bricks and LBA2 bricks inside of the same map. As soon as I finish the documentation about the maps I will post it in the forum. Darkflame I will have a look at it and see what needs to be done to make it work under windows 2000. Edit: pretty nice work you got there leoboe! i like it personnaly! Just one little detail, I do not know if it would be easy to do, but do you think it is possible to replace the usb plug by a network plug? Last edited by Rincevent_123; 2009-07-05 at 00:14. I love that logo concept, but yes, it should be a network cable.

Here is a small pic of tonight test with kobold and leoboe
Thanks to them! I will certainly leave the server open tonight and tomorrow the whole day so that you can try it out. Alexfont created a place for the project and his bugtracker, so you can put any bugs and suggestion you have in there. Thanks, Rincevent |

So although Rincevent has gone to sleep I have remade the Logo now with LAN-Cable instead of USB.
I think it actually fits the style even better. Spoiler: Last edited by leoboe; 2009-07-05 at 12:10. |
