Hi everybody,
I know the MBN for a long time, and I'm really delighted to see that the LBA fans are still alive ![]() I registered to the forum because I will have an interview with Philippe Vachey, who composed the musics in LBA1 & 2. I'm sure you'd like to ask him a lot of questions... I will add the most interesting questions in my interview ![]() A très bientôt, et vive LBA ! LFP |

a) Welcome to the forum
![]() b) Absolutely, they are still in my top 5 games too. c) Howd you get an interview with him? I'm sure many people will be interested here in that. His music is absolutely superb and adds much to the atmosphere of the games. There was another interview here ( http://forum.magicball.net/showthrea...t=14113&page=2) but it wasnt fully translated.

hey welcome to the MBN! and thanks very much for sharing this interview with the rest of us.. I can think of hundreds of questions i'd like to ask but the main would be:
1) Are there any plans to create an LBA 3? If not, how could we help to support this idea and to make it happen? 2) Is the LBA creator group working together and do you often talk about an LBA sequel? 3) Has the LBA 3 project been presented to the publishers? Where they interested? If not, what can we do to call their attention? In conclusion, to ask him about any news or ideas he knows about LBA.. thanks again |

Aruchi89 - We already know the answer to a lot of those questions from Axx's interviews and contact with Fred.
Best keep most of the questions music-focused, although that can be LBA/Music related. - Personally, Id be interested to hear what other stuff he has been working on. Has he worked on music for any other games? Will he work on music for LittleWorlds studios games ? Does he have any rough drafts or scraps of music left over that didnt make it into LBA1 or 2?

1) Do you have any music for us to hear that didn't make it to the LBA games?
2) What was your inspiration for the LBA music? 3) What software did you you to compose the music in LBA? 4) Did you have much freedom in creating the music with your own style?

1) who where his main influences in music creation?
2) what music from other games (than his own) does he adore? 3) for what project (game/movie/..., either past or current) would he like to compose the music for? 4) in hindsight, what would he change to the music of LBA/LBA2 (if anything at all)? |

It might be too specific for a question, but I'm really curious what Philippe Vachey thinks about the LOST soundtrack. To me it sounds exactly the same style as his music for LBA1.

Hello !
Thank you for your questions, they are very interesting. I will add your question about the LOST soundtrack, that's fun ChaosFish ![]() You can continue to ask your questions until August 15 ! And I hope the interview will be published soon after this date. I'll try to give you a traduction in English, but my English isn't perfect... |

We're used to hearing that from new members. Nobody should worry about "bad" English, as long as they can express themselves it's not a problem at all.

I "work" (for free) for a french website specialised in adventure video games : Planète Aventure. I already did interviews with Waël Amr (Frogwares) and Martin Malik (Future Games). An interview with Cédric Lagarrigue (Focus Home Interactive) and with Charles Cecil (Revolution Software) should be published in the next monthes.
The main aim of all my interviews is to have a lot of informations to write very good articles on the french Wikipédia. But it's also to learn more about the people who created the video games I liked ![]() |

1.) Like Jesse meant: Where did the sounds come from he used to create the LBA1 / LBA2 soundtracks. AKAI samplers? ROLAND expanders? What ever... very interesting for musicians
![]() 2.) How did he compose the music? Did he invent the themes/melodies on keyboard? How did he arrange the orchestral score? Which software sequencer did he use? 3.) Which music genres does he listen to? Does he have favorite composers/musicians/bands? 4.) How did he get started in game music creation business? Did the study music/composing/arranging or what about his "musical education"? greetz Can |

The LBA theme tune is my favourite piece of music ever, yet I can't think of any questions
![]() Actually I have one, not too sure how to say it though. I noticed if overlapped the LBA 1 and LBA 2 theme tunes follow the same pattern, was the LBA 2 theme tune created from scratch, or was the 1st one just edited? Also I want to know if he prefers the theme tune to LBA 1 or 2. And as alredy been asked, I really want to know where he got his inspiration.

I hope you don't mind if I add another few questions.
1. Which of the 2 LBA-Games has in your oppinion more emotional Music. 2. What do you think about other music made for games (especially the one of "Croc - Legend of the Gobbos" which I found the only music that is as memorable for a game as LBA's) do you have a favorite game-music? 3. What do you think about the Idea to create an LBA-Medley-Score for a real Orchestra, as already tried by a few MBN-Members? |

I'd love to know if he had any midi recordings of the songs, or sheet music, as I'd love to play them but never been able to figure out the notes to much on my piano =/

I'm interested in the "non-professional" part of his relation to music.
1) What music do you listen to? 2) Who is your favourite musician/band? 3) Have you ever played in a rock band?

Bonjour LFP

I realize a lot of your questions have already been answered in last year's interview. Unfortunately it was only partly translated to English. I'd suggest to dig on that before you ask the same questions again (sorry I don't have time to translate it again).

I think LFP can probably read it in French, what with him being French and all
