About the Monkey Island episode being free:

I downloaded the "chapter" (albeit it appears to be more of a demo than a full chapter).
Got the serial number via e-mail but I don't know where to type it.

Lightwing, as far as I'm aware the 'serial' code is actually basically an order code. You shouldn't need it. Is it saying that it's a demo, not a full episode? If so you probably downloaded the wrong thing by accident. Bear in mind that each episode is fairly small, an hour or two of gameplay. (More or less depending on how good you are at adventure games).

I don't find an option on TellTale's site to buy the episodes separately. Does this mean you have to pay the full price (even for the first episode) if you want to play the rest?

weird never noticed that before (i preordered the whole set anyway). Wallace and Gromit allows you to do them separately...

Maybe the other episodes are just locked for the moment so people don't go creating multiple accounts and getting the other episodes with the coupon?

Hm, $30, that's only 20€, sounds cheap enough. On WiiWare I would have to pay 40€ by buying the rest of the episodes separately.

I went back to the Treasure Site from the world map and the game crashed.
Then I tried to restart it and it kept crashing before even getting to the menu.

Doesn't change a thing. It's broken. And I didn't even do anything special.

really odd, maybe your save corrupted or something and everytime it loads it tries to open the corrupted file? Try backing up&deleting/moving the config and save files, if you haven't already?

All i can think of short of just using a different computer, or another Windows install if you happen to dual boot.

I can't find any kind of save files or config files in the game's main folder. Are they hidden somewhere else?

try looking in My Documents and your roaming folder in documents and settings/users directory. Can't search for it myself, I'm on my Mac.

Okay, I found it, renamed the autosave and was able to load my previous savegame without losing anything.

It's kinda stupid that the game loads your previous savegame by default, even if that was corrupted. It really shouldn't do that, just have a standard loading screen for you to choose.
