Dude, succinct titles that encapsualte the problem are hard to come up with...
I have an original LBA2 on CD (it doesn't say Odyssey anywhere on it, so I assume it's just LBA2) and I followed the DOSBox instructions here to get it working on my sisters Window 7 laptop. After setup and everything, on Step 3, I press "enter" and Twinsen and Zoe pop up and say "Please insert Twinsen's Odyssey CD ROM" and my options are "OK" or "Cancel". I didn't use any of the Odyssey instructions, because I don't have Odyssey. So why is it giving me this crap? I also downloaded FunnyFrog's patch, to see if that would help, but when I try to open that is says mss32.dll is missing. I gave Twinsen some serious lovin' in years gone by. Why does he hate me so much now?? ![]() |

LBA2 is Odyssey, I think you are messing this up. BTW you can also play it without DosBOX.Maybe thats the problem.

I've got a similiar problem like marymc... only a few differences: I've got the Odyssey-Version and Win XP ... So i used the Odyssey DosBOX-Guide but it also said that the CD is missing...
I tried the other way with all those patches out there (FunnyFrog, and the other one with the .dll's) aaand... you could say, it works... but the sounds are really noisy and the speech is nearly muted (even after setting it in the options)... also, there's no music or sound effects during sequences/movies ... like the song in the opening, where twinsen and zoe are running through the rain and the dinofly gets shocked... oh yeah: even the carfix didn't work... but it went fine driving backwards ![]() and, to prevent me from some seriously pointless questions: yes, i followed every readme i found and read quite a lot in this forum... aaand, im nearly sure i didn't place a file in a wrong folder... just because the patch-method is simple, but didn't work, i really want to try the dosBOX-thing again... soooo, i'm asking you gently for your help :/ (to prevent you from posting the guide-link, i will repeat a sentence from above: i used the Odyssey DosBOX-Guide but it also said that the CD is missing...) thanks and regards to all of you who are willing to help me ![]() |

Hello.
Maybe the problem is that you're not typing the complete mount command this time? You shouldn't type only "mount d I:\" Try "mount d I:\ -t cdrom -label TWINSEN -ioctl -usecd 1" To avoid typing this whole thing every time, you can do this part of the tutorial (I already changed the cd drive to "I:" and the folder to "D:\lba" to help you, but look if there are more changes needed): Create a new shortcut (by right-mouse-click -> new -> shortcut). Type your DOSBox path and your parameters. Here's an example: "C:\Program Files\DOSBox\dosbox.exe" -c "mount d I:\ -t cdrom -label TWINSEN -ioctl -usecd 1" -c "mount c D:\lba" -c "C:" -c "cd\lba2" -c "lba2" -c "exit" if you want to start in full screen, you can add: -fullscreen |
