Very, very cool! I'd love to do this on a rainy weekend as well. Is there any way to make them "permanent" (some sort of craft spray that would harden/glue the plastic without weighing it down)?

If you`re using a nice cardboard, then it should last for years. The Dino-Fly I made back then with the tutorial/unfolds still stands and looks OK. This is why I was recommending nice and hard paper /carton. Not only because it`ll last for very long time, but because the model itself will be easier to make, without rumples and distortions in the surface. It`s even easier to stick all parts together this way.

I must do one of these one day...
Isn't the fact that the paper is harder makes it... harder to fold the parts ?

No, if you`re creasing it. In my case, I was creasing the carton with the dull side of the blade of my utility knife, which I was using to cut all pieces. It`s not hard to do and the cardboard becomes as easy to bend as normal paper, even easier some times (depends on the depth of cutting, while you crease it).

I made it with a regula A4 sheet of paper, it took me about 4 hours to finish it!

Really cool man! I never saw one done to the last part. I might try this one day O:
EDIT: That reminds me, there are some "oripuzzles" at Ludoïd that are LBA themed: http://www.ludoid.fr/site/index.php/...-oripuzzle-lba
