The new episode wasn't very special, it was the same concept as in the original movie, only the story was a bit different. It didn't really contribute to the overall storyline.

Yes, it sucks.
But then again, not having the option to pic the size of movie playback in full-screen mode sucks too.
(ie, Quicktime can have a black screen with a movie small in the center, or it can enlarge it too percentages of the size with the screen still black around it).

And as for Liesence problems with Divx....there isnt any.
You said that before, but its wrong.
Divx is built from the ground up, its NOT a hacked codec, allthough its code is clearly based on Mp3/mpeg.

Thus its perfectly legal, its even being used in Modern DVD players and Gamesconsoles.
(All future Gamecube games can have DivX video playback, for instance)

Yes, up from DivX 4. DivX 3.11 is still the most used DivX version as it's supposed to be better, and that version does have license problems. DivX 5 is fine, but XviD is better in comparision.

Depends on the resolution of what your watching, its not nice to stretch images to much.
Im having that problem with my TV in at the moment...looks terrible when a NTSC picture is stretched to fit a PC moniter...so Id like to just have the screen black with the pic in the center...not stretched.
Ive yet to find a bit of software that can do this

The software loads faster, but I find QT loads the actualy movies faster.

I havnt heard any actual source point them out.

It's like zip vs rar: zip is faster but rar is compacter. DivX/XviD are further compressed than QuickTime resulting in more cpu usage, so they load slower. At least, that's what I think.

I found some documentation here (scroll down a little). DivX 3.11, also known as DivX ;-) was based on the hacked codec; version 4 and upwards were built from the ground and are 100% legit.

Well, I was comparing QT to WMP actualy, both vary depending on the codecs as well. (There many different Codecs for QT too, but not many people bother using anything but the defult).

DivX 3.11 is no longer used by anything official, and doesn't has a development team anymore. So nobody to sue.

I just saw episode 2 again, this time with the speakers well loud. Hearing the great music and good voice acting in it's full glory made me realize this episode is actually very good, I underestimated it the first time.

I really don't like the fact that they are only five minutes long. I mean, are they intending on releasing a 45 minute long DVD?

Episode 1 was 9:13, episode 2 is 7:15.
The DVD will have 9 episodes, of which 4 freely downloadable.
9*8 (rough average) = 72 minutes, that fills a DVD pretty nicely.

oh, Quick Review of Animatrix 2: Program:

Story: Good, not as interesting as the first one though.

Animation: Brillant, loved it

Heck, Id vote for that style for Ani-farscape when it happens

OK, I finally watched the first Animatrix episode.

Very nice, though a little creepy.
I'll get around to downloading the 2nd soon.

Not really. The animation is good and episodes like number two have something in them, but overall they feel practically empty.

Ok, some important Matrix Stuff:

1. Animatrix 3: Detective Story.

Personaly I found this the worse Animatrix,allthough I loved the strong Noir atmosphere
Its the first animatrix to have a "major" charecter in it, (Trinty) even thought she was not the protagonist.
The story seemed a bit thin, and there was a few major plot holes in it.
However, still worth watching.


2. NEW RELOADED TRAILER!!!, out today!!
Shows some SERIOUSLY cool special effects, allthough a lot of the previous trailers footage is in it.

This actualy seems to revil part of the plot of the films, and how it ties in with the game.
Again, stronglym recomend watching it, I personaly think the film/game over laping plot idea is groundbraking.

But thats because it has extreamly high resolution textures that are "scaled down" depending on how good your PC is.
I think I read they all start off at 5024*5024 or something
The idea is, it has "fowards compatability" for future graphics cards.
But who cares about graphics, the ps2/gc/xbox versions are cheaper
