6 explosions in the subway
1 explosion in a buss
2 death
90 wounded
7 critical

I doubt it's al Qa'ida, the date doesn't hold a symbolic value.
Besides that, they have been scared about anti-globalists as well, but those are in glasgow...
IRA could be as well...

Very bad news indeed! Possible supects so far:

al Qa'ida - naturally the standard response
Israeli group - Benjamin Netanyahu is in London - could be targeted at him
IRA - heightened tensions in Ireland at the moment
Other group - connected with either G8 or the Olympic bid

The Angry Monkey: Israeli groups don't do such things, never did and will will do. Unless *maybe* if it would be their enemy (i.e. arabs) (Which is of course also WRONG). Just letting you know.

Chaosfish - I was just putting down the suggestions offered by various news sites. I'd go myself for an anti globalisation group being responsible.

Although I don't think an Israeli group did it, I can't say there's kind of a rule saying one won't be able to do such a thing.

This is very clearly not an assasination attempt, so that rules out Israeli motives.

Good point! It's is clearly designed to disrupt - tho if it's about G8 - why not hit Edinbrugh?

Well, sorry to burst all the bubbles of the skeptics, but it just came across the CNN and Fox wires that Al Qaeda Europe has claimed responsibility for the attacks. I guess they really are terrorists, and not just scapegoats, as some would prefer.

Also reports coming in that Israeli security tried to notify UK security shortly before the incident that they learned of the plot. More to come, I suppose.

I hope our London MBN members will respond, let us know they are okay.

London is quite large, I don't think a few explosions will wipe out any MBN members.

Yeah but they showed in Saudi Arabia and Iraq that they didn't mind blowing up Moslims as well.

Current casualties:
33 death
350 wounded

If this was Al Qa'ida, something must have gone wrong with their plan. This isn't the same scale as Madrid, even though 3 million people use the london transport each day.

Madrid, London, wonder what city from the anti-terrorpig coalition will be next(hope it' not Warsaw - but who in the big wide world gives a damn about Warsaw... ) And I sincerely hope that Blair will avenge the victims in a nice bloody manner, and when they'll catch those bastards, send them to the Guantanamo boys, they'll make nice little railroad stations from their bottoms.

Yes, this is terrible. Reminds of the Madrid bombing.

Most news sites are suggesting Al Qa'ida, but I don't have a clue.

As soon as I leave the country, the G8 summit happens, London wins the Olympic bid and now this. The news doesn't seem to like me.

My first guess would be that it was Al-Qaeda, but I don't really have much knowledge of these matters so I don't know.

33 dead??? This is sick. We are at war. Seriously, those guys are threatening our democracy. I hope that this will wake up the sceptics in Europe. The regimes that support this kind of violence must be punished. Go to Saudi-Arabia and put a lethal blow on islamofascism.

OK. Stateled terrorism is much better.

Anakin, there is a difference between a mindles revenge, and avenging the victims using laws, the ones that are responsible for this bestiality should be punished, in the hardest way the British/Inernational law can offer (not death, I do not like the Idea of a law sanctioned murder).
