Twinsen Twinsen - Pilot Episode Demo

Okay guys!
as you all know, I've been working on a platformer game based around Twinsen.
It's been though some rough stages but the time has come for the demo, so without any more delays- its here.

First some screenshots:

so what does this demo feature? Play it yourself and find out (I should mention, windows only (very sorry )

and the controls are:
  • f4 - toggle full screen
  • shift - run
  • z - jump
  • x - sword
  • c - magic ball
  • enter - start
  • arrow keys - move
but, if you have a controller, I highly suggest downloading joy2key and playing the game with that
there are a few new moves you haven't seen from my game before and they might take some time to figure out, and thats what I hope you all do, spend some time mastering the controls and how Twinsen moves and attacks, there are also a few secrets in the demo, if you don't figure them out after a few weeks, I'll tell you them

Okay, heres the demo link:
Twinsen Pilot Episode Demo
I'd really appreciate if some of you guys could mirror it also

ENJOY!

Heh heh... very good, but some questions:
1. the controlling system is very messy... z/x/c is really uncomfortable...
2. Why is the magic ball so slow? And why does it always act like "discreet" (you probably know what I mean)?
3. After I reached the end of the screen, am I supposed to do something, or is this just the end of the demo?

(note: I haven't really followed the progress of the project, so sorry if any of the questions here are already obvious)

1.
the controls will be completely customizable in the next demo/full game
2.
the magic ball gets thrown differently depending on what direction youre holding
3.
thats the end of the demo

Great looks(!) sounds are done nicely as well!

I think the magicball movements and the jumping are to slow.
The sight turns as soon as you turn, maybe have look at that?
Furthermore, I want more!!

Great!
A few problems though:
- It's way too slow, and it consumes most of my CPU. Actually, all of my Pentium II.
- The controls are hard, because Z is between T and U on my keyboard.

And how do you get some many clover leafs like in your screenshots? I only have three.

if the game slows down you pc a bit, try turning off some of the graphics in the options, it will make it run a bit faster

Awesome Works like a charm here, the small screen kinda bugs me, but I guess that's the specifics of this kind of a game . Very cool, very pro .

Just got it to run on Windows Xp, wow, very impressive Tak!
I can see a lot of effort put into this. Waiting for the full game

Just one thing I was missing was familiar LBA stuff (grobos, teleporters, etc.). But it's great!

Programming a good AI is very simple, programming a stupid one is hard. (Unless you don't let it do anything)
