I'll check some out.

Musically I'm really creative. I write two albums of 80 minutes in around 7 months.

And I need about 3-8 hours or longer on each track...if I was paid for that...

at the moment I don't have anything online though

I checked out repent. I like the main bassline. The other instruments pretty much play offkey stuff that's ruining the mood for me.

Funfrock:
A dark and psycho mood. The dissonants make more sense here.
Actualkly this track is quite good. Nide progression you made here!

Floating to earth":
once again there's some dissonant synths. But I like the part at 1:00 the synths could go andf you have a nice atmosphere.

cheers

If I might give you a tip: Learn the basic harmonies and listen to your own stuff to find offkey tones.

thx good to see some feedback

Yeah i know repent is fully offkey, but it was one of my first, so its (as said) a classic, thats the only reason i put it there... maybe ill correct it... but it was kinda of a rebel song, so offkey parts are on purpose!
--

Funfrock is one of my first songs (the first from Odyssey album) and actually i progressed a lot , but im not sure if i should put it online without the copyright stuff. theyre too good

Thanks again for replying!

EDIT: u didnt vote....

what kind of copyright thing? They're automaticly protected as far as I know. As long as you can proove it.

But are you afraid someone might steal your tracks?

Yeah i dont know how this stuff works.. you know someone could just grab it and use for some purpose i dont want without asking me... how can i prevent it? And how can I prove it?

Since I could hardly hire a lawyer or something, and i dont know the laws... i just keep my stuff off-the-net. Any tips on what to do/how it works?

They usually do not steal anything unless you're beethoven.

The law says that any work that comes from you artwise is yours. if it's online you can clearly proove it's yours as long as you keep it online. Otherwise the stealer can put it online and claim it's his. On the other hand, if you have made the original, you probably have the original format (before it's an mp3, what program do you use?) that's a proove too.

You also got to keep in mind that no company likes to be put in a bad spotlight and when you claim they stole your work, it's never going to be good for them. The only people using your work might be people who make campaigns for games (amateurs..they use anything they can find ).

anyway, you don't have much to be afraid off imo.

im more like a beat-in-oven lol

i have nothing to afraid? well I done one that I think is particularly good and very original, my bro (18years old) and my father didnt notice any offkey part at all. I discovered you got to line up the notes in some pattern, not put them "randomly" , so that way itll never be offkey and lets me do many different sounds...

I wont upload it yet, but if you get MSN messenger i could send you it ... well get it anyway!

you can never be sure. I know I used to be afraid when I was 17, and nowadays I cannot imagine anyone wanting to steal those tracks. By time the standards get higher and the connection with the song might change.

But to me, fear isn't the best way to live.

I haven't got msn, you can try it on mirc though, i'm regulary online there in the lba channel. I don't know how file sending works there but it should be good.

If you're affraid somebody is gonna steal your track
burn it on cd and put a letter with it that you made it, mail it to yourself but don't open it when you receive it
the date on the stamp will be the evidence you made it before the other guy who stole it (if you know who stole it or ever you don't know it's stolen then that's bad luck, only stupid composers/producers steal work tough) if you know who did it
threaten him and say you have copyrights (you actualy do, cus you have proove you made it with the stamp date and stuff)
if he doesn't listen, follow the legal procedures of your country

greetz

edit: you can also use a service like sabam (in Belgium it's called like that) but you'll have to pay for such service but that more for commercial composers/producers. Or maibe this is an interesting one also, here in Belgium, you can go to your municipality house with a proof and they will also send you an envelope (don't open either) but they also keep themselves a copy for something about 30 years after your death. But like if the beatles were dead and 30 years later you said you made a song of them, nobody would believe you anyway

get the point?

I could say some stuff more about that but not now I g2g
bye

okay, the copyright stuff...

...you automatically have intellectual copyright over any work you produce. Intellectual copyright however, is pretty weak unfortunately, to be really safe you'd need proper copyright (which you apply and pay money for), but imo, it's not worth you getting that, stick to the intellectual for the time being, unless you happen to get a record deal or something (in which case the publishers would hold and pay for the copyright anyway).

The suggestion that ArcticNightfall gave about posting a letter to yourself is certainly a good one, and as neko said, putting it online is also proof of ownership in itself, put 'all content on this site intellectual property (c) © of Roy Rajabally' or something similar on the bottom of each page, just to make sure. I put everything i write online as soon as it's finished, both because it's nice to have a way for other people to access it, and because it's proof that you own it at date x (when it was uploaded).

To be honest though, i really wouldn't worry too much about people stealing your work, really, it's not a big problem usually, however good your work is. Most people just don't care enough to steal work from other people

Oh, and i've listened to all of the tracks, and voted, i'll do some short write-ups on them soon (once my exams are over)...
