Calling all LBA fans
Well, people, who want to help me to make a game like LBA, called Arthur's Adventure?
Current development is very basic, we may use C++ or C# to develop (SDL + OpenGL). Also, we will need someone with modelling/graphics skills (make textures and characters)... The game itself is not intended for commerce, but for open-source. Anyone interested, please reply below with: We currently need:

Hi you probably know me from other thread and I will say you some good advice. Don't do search of people this have no sense. I was participated in 3 or 4 indie project and every time when there was more than 2-3 people there were problems. And effect was opposite than we wanted. Better start working on game, create some core of gameplay some basics model and I'm sure that if you will show that development of project go well. People on they own will come to you asking if they can help you with work.
You can do with this advice what you thing is right. I just tell you that because I'm not new in this business and this situation repeat all over time with different projects. |

Remember theres lots of resources (meshs, textures etc) from other projects that probably wont mind sharing their assets with you.

I can make textures via photoshop, and I'm learning C++ programming at school (in the last program I made, you had to input a day, a number, and the program tells you what day it is).
So... I'd like to join.

What 3D lib you using? There must be lots of c++ libs out there for 3d and it would save you a lot of work. (I mean, you could spend a month just working out decent importers for various formats if your just coding your own stuff straight in OpenGL)

Emmmmmmm..... On second thought, I guess I don't have the required level ^^' I didn't program anything graphical yet, only consol applications... Still, I'd like to help with texture/image making.

@Darkflame: I don't have any lib yet, just using SDL and OpenGL. If you have suggestions, I'm open for them...
@Polaris: Well, would be good if we had some ground/walls textures as an start... |

In what dimension ?

Maybe 2048x2048, they would fit most computers...
Edit: What people think of use WebGL (newer browsers only), so the game is directly cross-plataform and we don't need to mess with direct OpenGL... Last edited by MatheusMK3; 2011-03-09 at 00:08. |

![]() I've only used C++ for Nokia/QT stuff. For Java I use jcpt which saved me...like..a years worth of effort ![]() I think theres one called "irrlicht" that I heard a few good things from though; http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/features.html

@Polaris: Yea, tiled ones, but if you want to make them 512x512 or 1024x1024, don't think there will be much problem...
@Darkflame: Well, I think that Java looks like Javascript, correct me if I'm wrong, since I don't program Java (only JS)... My idea was to make the game in Javascript, via the WebGL api (Webkit-Firefox)... It would be cross-platform and still easy to make.... |
