hehe, I remember seeing something like that somewhere on Yahoo! around 2002 but that was about it
 there were many PC magazines back in the old days with "shareware" versions of full games like LBA2, etc., even compilation CDs with many games. They were borderline illegal if u ask me but apparently it was the dawn of piracy and nobody caught them :P

I think this is most likely the same demo that we have here on the MBN. Unless it's not and it's some other version we never knew of, but we can't know for certain unless someone buys and dumps the disc and posts the dump here.

I picked it up and yeah it seems to be the demo. I installed it on XP 32 bit but the screen would flash black and nothing would happen. Probably needed a patched .exe but I had other things to worry about at the time.
I could dump the contents to a google drive and someone could give it a try if they wanted?

Hmm on my Win7 it works perfectly, just the intro screen was busted (the one with LBA Japan, before the Adeline screen). But it's indeed a slightly different demo, probably for the JAP market?!

Ok so it turns out they're the same
I even did a binary comparison. The only difference is that your version has a current savegame (CURRENT.LBA file inside the SAVE folder), 5 additional .DLL files for whatever reason:DSETUP.DLL (I guess for America?) DSETUP6E.DLL (Europe? but no idea what 6 is for) DSETUP6J.DLL (Japan? but no idea what 6 is for) DSETUPE.DLL (I guess for Europe?) DSETUPJ.DLL (I guess for Japan?) + it has an additional LBA2.ICO icon and it misses the LBA2DEMO.TXT that the original demo had. So... that's pretty much it
