LBA like movies
I've been watching quite some movies the last few weeks. And I was wondering, are there any LBA like movies. Ofcourse the bigger question would be: what makes it an LBA like movie?

Any one?

I can't really nail it down.

I think the atmosphere and setting is what will mainly do it.
There was a movie that gave me a LBAish feeling, forgot which one, I'll get back to you about that.

I would guess that it's probably easier finding LBA-like movies in the anime industry than in the Hollywood industry
But I don't know really.. can't really think of one. Though we can always ask Fed what inspired him to create the game. I think some people asked Tim Schafer (Grim Fandango) and he actually was inspired by two movies.

I don't really recall seeing any movies I'd call LBA-like, although there are quite a few based on the whole 'evil corporation takedown' thing, I'm sure.

the answer to this question is the movie called Men in Black, its got aliens, action and a conspiracy....but it is nothing to do with LBA in other ways :S

I'm sure Studio Ghibli have made an animated feature which would give you that feeling :P The fact that everything is different from our own world, but society still functions correctly.

Dunno about movies, but theres something about the childrens animated series "Tiny Planets" that reminds me of LBA.
Something about the bizare creature designs and animation style.

Obviously star-wars and indiana johns were things that influenced fred, but thats a whole other question.

What you need is to find a similar character in a movie: a pony-tailed tunic-wearing lead hero dude whose kung-fu is strong... perhaps crouching tiger hidden iguana
