Amazing Gadget Offer.

TapWare Zodiac for £80!
http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/sho...CategoryID=223

Its a full Palm-PC, touchscreen, media/game abilities, 2 SD card lots. 480*320 screen (higher resolution and lower latency then the PSP, incidently) ,
http://www.tapwave.co.uk/zodiac_overview.html

Dispite having a DS recently, and looking into a Gizmondo this is looking amazingly tempting.
They have been out awhile at £180ish, but £80 is a lot more wallet friendly.

I changed my mind, i'm not gonna buy a Zodiac afterall.
I'll buy an used iPAQ with ability to use wlan and install linux on. ^^

Anyway, Darkflame, I was thinking about buying this zodiac. It's used and up for sale at Amazon
I emailed the seller about more information etc. and he was very informative, seems like a good deal.

Never found any place selling cheap new zodiacs though, atleast none with units in storage.

Dude, I'm sooooo getting a Zodiac. Is there any real big difference between the Zodiac 1 and Zodiac 2? Apart from the RAM?

It's just the RAM that's different on the two. Nothing else.
People do recommend buying a Zodiac 2, but i'm not sure about that. $100 extra for some more RAM doesn't sounds very smart.

Though if you're just interested in using it as a PDA and running emulators of older consoles. The Zodiac 1 should be more than enough.
For example, GBA emulators has some problems with loading on the Zodiac 1 because of too little RAM. Infact, it can't load big ROM files at all.
But who wants to emulate GBA? Bah.
NES and SNES is the way to go. ^^

It's just a matter of interest, really.

Gizmondo does seem that rad to me, i've hear it's a bit of a disapointment, actually.

Ah, GP32 you say?
I thought about getting a GP32, ended up thinking about getting a Zodiac and finally decided to get a PDA.
Might get ahold of a cheap GP32 later though, a FLU.

The GP32 would have been great 2 years ago....but its over priced underfeatured compared to the stuff you can get today.

Oh, and I love the Gizmondo...its had some bad reviews, but I havnt seen any sensisible point against it.
The bad reviews I read said "under 24 hours battary is poor" and "Too expensive for children". (probably two of the most stupid points I have read in a review). I think they expected it to be a N-gage style phone or something.

Of course, game selection is limited, thats its biggest problem.
But Im going to give it a go.
Games come only from a big userbase, after all.

I might also find GPS usefull one day. The idea of GPS games appeals to me too...allthough we have yet to see how that works.
GPS will also be a usefull feature for m

I got the GP32 so I could play all my Megadrive, SNES, Quake, Doom, Hexen, some of the great homebrew games. I think it's still great now and its not that expensive, in Gamestation they are quite cheap (under 100 quid I think). The Gizmondo is gonna be the greatest (does it have WiFi or anything? I know about the Mobile Phone crap, but is that it?) I was gonna get a PSP but I think the Gizmondo is gonna be better.
