NO EXCUSES TO NOT OWN BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL....Get it for just £3

http://www.savapoint.com/savapoint/p...24&gid=&cid=99

Its actualy FREE, but postage is £3

This is an insanely good bargin, the game is easily worth a full £35, and beats most games that cost more too.
Any fan of LBA, Zelda or gameing in general should like it.
At that price...what are you waiting for?!?!?

I got the game for around €10 when it had been out for just a few months here, which was insane already. When I found out it didn't have any gamepad support at all I was a bit disappointed because I wanted to play with my flashy new gamepad thingy so I kind of put it on the shelf collecting dust since then. I should pick it up again some time.

Just wanted to link this short column too.

Game had it for 99p in the UK.
All shamefully low prices.

Because the public are too stupid to buy it.

It's a great game.
But not yet available outside the US, where it was release over 8 months ago.

Psychonauts is really fun (oh and it does have gamepad support ). Graphics are funky and it's totally surreal... might seem childish at first but gets really dark from time to time too (a bit like LBA in that aspect). You should try it. I don't think it's in the budget bins yet.

Oh, not outside of USA at all >_> that explains why I hadn't seen it.

I am EXTREMELY surprised Chaoshfish are the only one to be suspicious, its obiously some mischief about this!

Also, it says Our Price £0.00 *

It has an *, but it doesnt have a * = "blabla", btw. what does PRP 19.99 stand for?

It is perhaps not a trick but why take the risk?, maybe half the "shipping tax" goes to themself or they hope you will buy more when you see that or that u click the ads. But I think you should be WAY more suspicious.

I'd buy it if it I didn't have it already.

Jeesh! This must be really encouraging for Ubisoft executives to release a sequal.

Indeed

Especialy when Xbox360 games are £50, and all the current ones are grossly inferiour to this game.

The * refers to the fact that you're only allowed to buy 1 copy. I know this cos I tried to buy 5 and it wouldn't allow it

Bought the game ages ago and finished it ages ago. I wish there were more games like that. Sweet innocent games that you'll never get bored off.

BG&E is very replayable.

Should I be emberrassed to admit that I spend about 20 minutes just looking at the blue fireflies near the lighthouse?

That game is so pretty that in 10 years it's still probably going to look visually great.

Indeed.
I felt the same about the tree

I think the is a trend for games too look worse at the moment.
With all the time and effort invested in createing sophisticated shaders, billions of polys, displacement maps...there is less time spent actualy thinking how to *use* them.
All the technical detail in the world wont improve the look of the game if its just slapped down for the sake of it.

Every effect, texture and polygon in BG&E seemed to have had thought put into it.

Don't agree. It's the style of BG&E that you like (somewhat the same cartoonish style as LBA), most games follow a different style, usually more realistic.
For that same reason you would probably like psychonauts.

Not at all, even realistic games can have imaginative set pieces and great scanary.
But they mostly dont, or if they do, its something you have seen thousands of times before. Slapping displacement maps, and makeing every shiny dosnt make a game look good.
No more then a painter has to use every colour on his pallete to make a good picture.

Likewise, cartoony games can come accross as techicaly great, but artisticaly rushed.
The Xbox360 game Kameo is a great example of this.
Its got high diffinition, its got great looking floors and bump maps, but it has no soul.
Polygon counts vary wildly, some textures are realistic, some are cartoony, charecter designs are lackluster, scenary is mostly bland. And when it comes to pushing the console techicaly, it jus shoves large numbers of identical clones at you.

Resident Evil 4 is an examaple of a very realistic game, but still had a lot of thought put into the artwork. Using a intentialy limited pallete, adding grain occasionaly, making every little shed have gaps and cracks in the wooden walls. Some of the later set pieces are very cliché, but overall its both very realistic and artistic.
And it dosnt have anything really high-tech at all.No bumps, no true lighting, certainly no high tech shaders.
Just lots and lots of carefully made textures.

Prince of Persia : Sands of Time is another recent highly artistic game. The over-use of bloom blur and radiosity burnt lighting makes a magicaly/mythical look to the whole game. Which fits the mood perficaly.

But now every other game is using bloom blur for every brightly let point over the whole game. They dont seem to question if it will fit the game, its just an effect, so they add it.

And thats the problem I have in general, that less and less thought seems to go into the artistic design.
Its not new either, of course.
A few generations back you couldnt move without being blinded by lens flares
