EDGE magazine heads-up

EDGE is currently publishing edited sets of backissues bundled together under a magazine called "EDGE file"

They did their first 12 issues, which are out now. (WHSmiths at least)

The next set of 12, however, will contain the issue focusing on LBA1. (with the cover of Twinsen Playing on the sega-saturn)

So for any fans out there might want it.

Of course, I have the original, so this is a heads-up for everyone else

I had a australian magazine for the preview of lba. It had pictures of the adeline team on a ski trip if I remember correctly (team photo) mixed with the snowy pictures of twinsun in Himalayis.

I kept it for years as a suvenir, and somewhere over the years I decided to let it go, it would of been great to still have it.

Indeed.

I just looked in the shops.
Its £8 in uk, but I would recomend buying it. Its very big and theres Articals on Adeline and a review of LBA1.

Theres also nices bits on other adventure games, and its nice to see how the future-of-gameing used to be. Lots of good reading for nerds.

The only snag is the print-quality of the issues seem poor

File Issue 3 was released a while ago.
It contains an interview with Fred and Serge Plagnol about LBA, Time Commando, LBA2, and game development in general.
It's a very interesting article.
For example:

Do these magazines have any information on the development of Half-Life?

Gosh, imagine if they had done that to Twinsen. It would have been awful. I'm glad he ended up as he is!

That doesn't surprise me at all. EA has always had the campaign of making games for the average consumer. I don't know how Adeline got by without EA refusing to publish the game.

Still, having heard something like that about LBA is really interesting. I'd like to read more.

Talking about scanning articles... I found an review of LBA2 in one of my old computer-magazines the other day. I've been looking for it for ages and happened to stumble upon it by pure chance. And yes, it's in Swedish.

I'll scan it sooner or later, now that I've found it, and write a transcript.

While I'm at it I should probably dig up a walkthrough of LBA2. I've got that magazine lying around somewhere, as well...
