Flocks of birds (very cool video)

http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=8xkvaO04pcc

Thought this deserved its own thread rather then the normal net video one.
Really cool swarm like paturns.
I saw something a bit like this before, but not to this degree.

Remember Hitchcock's movie...?

I usually have swarms of jackdaws in the winter season flying over the city, but this one made me say: Holy... This is crazy!

Yes, The Birds here are very scary.

For that mater though, it also looks like the smoke creature from Lost O_o
(very very small swallows! The fans will never see that twist coming...)

In a couple of hundred years the only way to see some of these creatures (like polar bears) might be through these videos.

Sorry to pull an environmentalist one on you, but it was sort of inevitable given the subject matter.

On the other hand, in a few hundred years (actually in a lot less than that) all we'll have to do to recreate extinct species is a lab and a sample of their DNA.

Cool video btw. Imagine if those birds were given an intelligence boost, they would be unstoppable.

Well, the lack of hands might be a problem too.
I think octopus's are the other species that could do with (more) brains, as they got the dextarity to build stuff too.

In general, yes, but specificaly, no.
Swallows have a few species in danger, but the majority is doing just fine. Humans havnt really declined their population like we have other animals.
