Game On

Just thought Id better inform anyone in England at the moment, that there is an excelent computer game exhibition in London at the moment.
Its £11 entry, (£8 students), and you get a 3 for 2 offer if you bring an Edge magazine.
---
The "exhibites" consist of about 150 playable computer games from a wide range of times and genras.
Yes, they Xboxs running network halo, and yes they have demos of "Republic the revolution", and a japanise version of
Mario Sunshine.
But if your interested in retro-gaming, youll get stuck at the front rooms.
It has the oringinal computer game (SPACEWAR), playable on a Vectrex (an interesting machine that dosn't use pixals, it draws everything in continous vector lines).
Theres a big-projected version of pong, which me and some friends where playing for at least 15 minutes.
Best of all theres oringinal arcade cabinants with games like Donkey Kong, Defender, Missle Command, Crystal Castles.
All in perfect working, playble order.
Best of all, they have an oringinal TEMPEST arcade cabinate.
You simple must play this game, Tempest is one of the most fun games ever made, and can not be emulated accurately due to its wheel controlls.
In the next room, theres consoles like NESS/SNES, jaguers ect.
Then theres a room full of the best games of all time.
Most, I have to say I agree with.
(EXCEPT LBA wern't there!!! )
---
Upstairs theres a few cool things includeing a kind-off motion-sensors screen thing.
Basicaly, it can overlay effects onto a video of whoever is standing in front of it.
If you ever whated to impersant Twinsen, this is the thing to us.
Put the fire effect on, then you can "grab" a fireball and hold it in your hands.
===
The exhibition is at the Baribicanin london, and the entry fee is extreamly good value when you consider how many free arcade games you can play.
Its running till 15 Sept, and you can book tickets on:
020 7638 8891
Theres also a special cinema at the centre where you can watch computer game related films (like Tron, eXistenZ, the Matrix).
You have to pay seperately, but its still worth it to see TRON in a cinema again
