And he joined the MBN just now. I just joined around the time the MBN was created, WUK was active even before that, on the WOLBA and such.

10 bloody years. Has it really been that long? Seems like a lifetime ago.

Welcome back, mate.

Edit: Scratch that. 1998. It's been 11 bloody years.

Thank you; you flatter (or mislead) me! You joined after I left? Maybe I saw your posts one of those years I was catching up on this site.

11 years now, huh Lightwing? Cool. Things have changed: apart from the usual expected things like finishing school, I've moved countries.

I remember I was working on a big long walkthrough for LBA (1, which I always preferred to 2). I had it in text format, but I never finished it. It was very meticulous, with lots of lists. I don't have it anymore. I once e-mailed it to elmuerte, but I doubt he has it either. I wonder if my hand-drawn maps are still around in a plastic folder in my parents' house.

What have any of you guys been up to? Or is this discussion more suited to a place such as Member Announcements?

It's not suited here really, member announcements would be good I think.

It would kind of leave both threads in a mess, I can't really see a good way to do it.

On-topic: I'm against e-mailing the guy. But if you do, make it brief and try not to sound fanboyish. So like, "Saw you mentioned Little Big Adventure in your last review. A big thanks from the LBA community. Maybe you'll review it someday. Cheers."

yeah I think a big "Thank you" letter from the whole Magicball Network forums would be much more honest and sincere than... Darkflame's evil plans of brainwashing XD

(joke)
or we could just do something like

"Hello! We loved your review of LITTLE BIG Planet... I like that game.
The Sen Twins."
(/joke)

Heh, the guy reviewed Thief today as an example of the good stuff. So maybe LBA isn't out of the question. Guess it depends on how much he likes it.

Yes, Thief, from 1998. Well, it's possible, isn't it? I guess he'll get around to it if he wants to.

Yes, we have to hope for another year or terrible games so he will do more retro reviews.

I believe that high quality of games in this early part of the year will be just one or two per month, so maybe he will. Anyway, I've lost interest in e-mailing him, but wouldn't mind if anyone else did.

I made a new thread here, if anyone's interested in seeing it. Just to reacquaint myself with the community. A little selfish, in fact. But if you're keen, please reply to it, and I might stick around this time!

Whoever made the video has to join this forum!

I think a review about LBA is just what we need - a bit of publicity for this awesome game. It will only do good - who knows, maybe Fred will see it and think 'Right, that's it, I'm making this damn game right here and right now!'

Not sure about that. Business world is hard. If he's got no funding, he couldn't make a game even if he wanted to.
