Some batchs of BG&E had problems in various countries.

I played over it on the Gamecube and the only problem at all was a very silly one where all the controllers rumbled when hit :P
No serious bugs though.

So it really depends on version,country,batch etc.

I also played over Prince of Persia :Sot, WW, TTT without any problems.
(well, WW had some at the rigging section, but with that many timed-things falling down and rewind working I dont blame them much)

Rayman Raving Rabits however, was awfull...lots of things just impossible, badly balanced or glitchy. (even superman couldnt have activated all the videos for the bonus stuff....there wasnt enough points in the whole game to do it -_-)

No Prince of Persia game worked for me. WW was the worst. Constant crashing and being notably more hardware demanding that it was supposed to be.
No matter which computer (five different so far) I've tried to install XIII on, it always crashes when you leave the bank in the second level.
The original Rayman was a DOS game, so it gets the benefit of doubt.
Splinter Cell, all of them, are like a clusterfuck of bugs.

And the worst part is that ALL of these games are GREAT. Ubisoft is a brilliant studio. But they are also twats. Huge fucking twats.

PC? I never played much Ubisoft stuff on PC, only demo's.
But, yeah, they seem to have a problem with their testing.
--

Sony new PSP design seems to have leaked;

No UMD (wow, finaly they saw the light)
Download games.
Bluetooth.

Apart from that seems the same as the current one.
Personaly, I thought this amataur design is much nicer;

Still, I think Sony made a good call changing to downloads.
But still..why the hell didnt they make this into a proper successor?
Why this half-step again.

It needs to always fold up and fit in your pocket though, I think the claimshell design of the ds/gbasp/half-a-dozen-mobile-phones is the best. (this also protects the screen)

I only carry a bag if I have something big enough to need a bag. :P

Thing is, the point of portables is the instant-play factor, so even with a bag, its easier in your pocket. (so you can play it on the train, flick it in your pocket, change trains, and get out again, for a common example). Its not quite so convient if you need to get it into/out of your bag.

Indeed.
We need the inside of the pocket further away then the outside. [/I always loved that dumb tardis explanation :P]

Actualy, better then that, a Discworld-style Luggage that follows you around, then you dont even need to lift the weight.

So is it a game about some Noah-arc type situation? (If so, been there done that and I don't like Bible stories.)

Well, Fallout 3 was about someone being 'sent' to do an 'important job' in a cruel world. With dr. Li as 'voice from the sky' you bring 'pure water' to the people.

Bethesda loves to implement religious stuff.

Well, I wouldn't mind a littoral Noah's arc game. That is, assume the myth had a base's in reality. Think how it could really work. Perhaps the earth is flooded due to some cosmic disaster due to some aliens, but they take pitty on us and dump some technology to help save us before they leave. They cant communicate directly so they show some images of what you must do (thus its seems like visions from a "god").
From there it could be portrayed like a RTS...you slowly build up your ship, augmenting it with the alien tech you need to save as much of the worlds species as possible. Thus you have a wooden ship, but with space-compression technology, food-growth vats etc :P
You would then explore around with your ship, saving creatures as the waters of the world slowly rise.
Additional problems could come from "mythical" creatures attacking that you wont save in the arc, and thus didn't survive :P

That could be an interesting springboard for a story/scenario, but I dought any US publisher would touch it.
[/Darkflames random game idea #153]

But, yeah, Religious metaphors rephrased/mirroed in future scenarios stuff normally turns out pretty shitty. Mainly because the creators think they are being clever.

Nice, you could make millions out of that idea People love sci-fi that "proves" the primitives got it all right and that all there is to find and discover was already written in the Bible 1000,00,00,000 years ago. Maybe people just don't like surprises and new adventures.

Btw: a relevant link.

Yeah, but on the other hand, trying to claim god isnt a god, but rather an alien that accidently killed a load of us probably wouldnt go down very well with the fundimentalists. (Hell, look at the fuss raised over Dogma....despite that film basicaly agrees with 99% of the Bible and says its fact :P)

Personaly, I just like the idea of mixing very old tech with very new/alienish tech.
Probably end up with that arc looking some a Ghilbi castle with steampunk overtones and having massive crystals sticking out the side for good messure. (Everyone knows aliens use crystals for everything!)

NEW MONKEY ISLAND GAME!-

http://wii.ign.com/articles/988/988570p1.html

Eppisodic, coming to WiiWare and XBL

Made by TallTale games (which was made from ex-LucasArts staff).
Not sure if Gilbert was involved though.

*edit* he was/is;

I'm pretty good at keeping secrets. I'm so good at it people actually send me death threats. If you have a secret, you can tell me. I won't tell anyone. Go ahead. I'm listening.

Over the past few months, I've been the vessel for a couple of very exciting secrets and it's been really hard to not give someone the nudge-nudge-wink-wink-don't-tell-anyone, but I couldn't. Not these.

The first is the re-release of The Secret of Monkey Island. Several months ago I was invited to LucasArts to get a sneak preview. Very cool.

Hopefully this will open up the pure pleasure that is Monkey Island to a whole new generation of gamer that knows only how to use a console controller.

The second secret is that TellTale is doing an episodic version of Monkey Island. I had the great pleasure of spending a few days with Dave Grossman, Mike Stemmle and the rest of the TellTale crew getting my head into Guybrush Threepwood again.

And yes, thats also a Special Edition of the first game confirmed.
Remade graphics, PC/XBL confirmed;
http://www.lucasarts.com/games/monkeyisland/

It would be crazy not to release on Wii/DS too though.
(All they would have to do is batch-resize it all :P)

Microsofts Motion controller called "Fluid" - Not much news, but apperently its camera based. I cant see FPS or Mouse-Controll working with that, which (imho) is the Wii's biggest strenghs.
If they could have headtracking, something that could do this;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw
Would be a massive win.

Ok, heres Microsofts Big thing;

http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/1...al_trl_e3.html

Basically full-body motion controls ver a camera-tracking. Possibly a 3d camera I think.

This has huge potential, but the video demo looks awful....racing games already feel "wrong" when if you use a steering wheel, the steering wheel isn't actually fixed....it would be either worse if your not holding *anything*.
The Wiimote works to some extent because you and the game characters are both holding something....the wiimote can feel a bit like a sword, a bat, or a gun.
(this is probably why the PS3s controllers motion controls arnt used much...it cant feel like any of those due to its shape).
Also, of course, without any controller at all, how would a characters move?

That said...microsoft has huge opportunity's here, and the tech is great.
How about head tracking first-person viewpoint on all games? (like Johnny Lees wiimote demo). I'd buy a 360 for that!
Or fighting games where it matchs your limb motions (but exadurates your impact, of course :P)

Theres possibilitys all over the place, but I dont see them being used in that video.

I am not the biggest 360 fan, but Microsoft... What can i say, they merked it tonight.

That tech, if works as advertised, will make wiimote officially redundant tech.

MGS Rising, Starring Raiden, announced for the 360! Microsoft has just had exculsive after exclusive, theyre already ahead of sony in the race, now theyve just sealed victory.

Edit: That said, I imagine you would need to swap between 10 DVD's when playing it on 360
