- Tabata: Well, pretty much everyone on this forum hopes they make that game, but sadly, the more time passes, the less chance there is for it ever to happen.

I disagree, the more time pass's the more chance it will happen ( see; just about every old franchise being dugged up and rebooted/remade/late-sequals), but the less chance it will be good.

Why so? These days there's a return to indy games, new developing techniques, tools and maybe, just maybe, the adventure genre is kind of coming back to life. I think LBA3 today would be better than a 2004 LBA3, so to speak.

I can't believe that there are really still members who haven't accepted that it will never happen yet.

The hope is the last thing you lose

If there is a HD remake of Prince of Percia which is from 1987, why can't be a LBA3 now? I'll be still believing

I don't know exactly if that was aimed at me but here I go again

For the record, I don't expect LBA 3 anymore, but I was saying that if the game would be somehow done today it would be a better game than a previous generation effort (2000-2006)

No, it wasn't aimed at you, I actually agree with that point.
Although it would be completely different from the originals.

As time pass's making games gets easier and easier - premade systems and interfaces, more and more inteligent programs. Its only because we also demand more that budgets are going up and publishers get narrower and narrower investments.

At some point though, its going to be easy for a developer to push out something like LBA1/2 for a few months effort. Hell, if you look at the games being made within games like Minecraft, you can see how far we have come already. Engines capable of simulating other engines. (gameplay wise, that is).

This is why I think LBA3 will come, because sooner or later then franchise's IP will become worth more then the effort it takes to make the game.
Why I question quality, however, is because it depends how much of the original team would be involved and how much thought it put into it. Making a game is getting easier, but that doesn't mean making a good game is and certainly not one with the same impact as LBA had on us.

tbh it's best if lba3 isn't released.
making lba3 now would be like filming "Full House" now. (I.E. it wouldn't work)

Wait, ain't it just one of those mutants you find lurking in the rabbibunny village on the hamalayi mountains from LBA1?

And the other guy is just a quetch, no?

Interesting nonetheless.

When this thread was created, I read the post in Taringa! and I added Didier Chanfray as a friend in Facebook (I thought "there's nothing to lose")

Yesterday when I logged in in my facebook, I found this: http://img39.imageshack.us/i/ohmygoshh.jpg/ (sorry for the picture's name, I was so excited when I saw that xD)

I'm surprised that he has accepted my friend request, mostly because he doesn't have a lot friends (he has just 122 friends, so I think he doesn't accept fans or simply he isn't very recognized).

Well.. I want to say him a lot of thinks. What do you think?

Sorry about double post, I can't edit the previous message x.x

Well.. here are the news! He was very quick

http://img46.imageshack.us/i/mensajef.jpg/

It's not the answer I want to read, but he said "the consitions are still not satisfied". It sounds like they want to make LBA3 in the futute.. when they can make it.

I'm sure they will tell us when conditions are satisfied, its kinda pointless asking that question. Best we can do is to try to make their other projects successfull and keep LBA alive ourselves. It still often makes top50 or top100 PC game lists so its not hopeless by anymeans.
