"1000 Game Heroes"

One of the presents I got for Christmass was a book called "1000 game heroes", when I first saw it i thought "hay, cool" and thought nothing more about it.
(apart from being privitely annoyed a certain miss croft was on the cover.)

However, only when i opened it later did I realise how cool it was.
The very first game creator mentioned in the book is Frederick Raynal!

I have enclosed a scan of the page.

The book then has a feature on Agartha!!! (Freds unreleased Dreamcast game).

Going though the book you get all the Super Miyamoto and Molyneux stuff you would expect, before reaching the point of the whole book; Twinsen ;D

Theres numberious pictures from the games, and a few bits of concept art too.

This page is just a sample, I will post the other relivent pages over the next week. (I'll try to make future scans more readable too)

The book is published my TASCHEN and is very interesting.
Anyone with a bit of spare cash, or who is interested in computer games should consider getting it.

(I am leaving this thread sticky untill the information is avaible in a better format, as i feel its important.
It shows Fred is still very respected in the industary, it places Twinsen between Xbox and Gamecube games, this is not an old book)

Ooo, nice. I saw that in the shops a while ago, might buy it today.

But yes, nice. (And wtf is Lara Croft doing on the front. Mario or Sonic it should be... or Twinsen? ...)

It does deserve to be sticky , this is great news , twinsen has fallen into the Abandonware pit but had not been forgotten by a book industry =P

It will remain sticky for the next week as
a) Its important, and
b) There will be more pages updated in the next few days.

Once there is a neater source for the information (say, pages on MBN, or my own domain), then this thread will be unstuck.

The fact that everyone gets horny from this page is showing how starving people are on LBA news here lol.

He should cut his hair btw

EDGE, current issue (Red with "Mainstream" written on it, Issue#132).

And, as my first post says says the book is "1000 Game Heroes", published by TASCHEN

I got a big hard on not only from seeing Fred in this magazine, but that this wasn't just another speculation thread. Of course, it could just be your post that made me all excited.

Sorry for the huge delay

I was going to make nice HTML pages with the info, but my scanners OCR sucks.

Heres a *.ace file of all the relivent pages, including a few bits of LBA concept art.
If anyone wants any of these in higher resolution, just ask

www.darkflame.co.uk/Fred_1000 Game Heroes.ace

(thanks for those that pointed out my error [Medur, Choas], i deleted your posts to keep this thread neat )
