Soul Bubbles interview

Good interview about Soul Bubbles here:
http://www.cubed3.com/news/11790#replysh

Thought people would be interested.
Hints that it isnt saleing too well ( ), and some comments about the current retail market which I strongly agree with.

Soul Bubbles' price on Amazon already dropped to half the original. It's kinda sad, still too much FPS crap out there. :|

Things were very different on the sales and marketing front, though, and it's been heartbreaking to see how much marketing (or a lack of it in this case) can hurt a good game.
Same thing happened to Beyond Good & Evil, Psychonauts, Anachronox (also Eidos), etc. Pretty much every critically acclaimed original/off-beat game which didn't become a commercial success.

I think its particularly bad on the DS at the moment though.
Even if you know of a game you might want, its hard to find shops that stock it under the piles of crapware.

No kidding, it's like 95% crap on the DS, and of that 5% maybe 0.5% is something I might be interested in. (stats completely made up of course)

Yeah, then you only got a 1/10 chance the store is stocking that 0.5% you want as well.
I searched for quite awhile before I found something with Soul Bubbles.

Professor Layton is also still pretty hard to find. (which is even weirder seeing as thats a pretty good game for all audience's)

It seems marketing has to target the chain stores a lot more these days as well as the customers.
Retail has far too much power to kill a games chances.
