Lightbulb MBN Forum Stats

Ahoy El matey! Arrr
You probably know of #lba channel stats by wacko thingy.

Is it possible to make something similar, but for the forum?
Like, "The most common word", "the average number of posts per thread", "the most common smiley", etc, etc, etc, etc.

It would be really nice if it's possible!

That would be cool... if mass spamming wasn't an issue.

People like Coldplay, but they don't love them. People like U2, but they don't love them. But people fucking love Oasis. That's the way it is. It's more than the music.

Polaris: "And what is a guitar doing in the middle of an asteroïd anyway?"
sgk: Think of it this way: it's like a message in a bottle. In our world, we put a message inside a bottle to protect it while it travels through the oceans to reach some other island. In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

It shouldn't be too hard, if you have the contents of the database you can easily count stuff. With a little luck some other folks already thought of this idea and made some nice scripts like IRC stats for forums.

Parsing doesn't take too long. Those #lba IRC stats take less than a quarter to generate on 1400 MHz. That's like 150 MB of plain text. Since the MBN is saved in a database you could apply lots of time-saving selection methods for a lot of those stats.

With my limited SQL knowledge, I suppose it shouldn't be too hard indeed.

I think actually a better thing to do is contact vBulletin and ask if they can make scripts for that...
