Smile 3DS Review with small Twinsen camo + NEW EPISODE ONLINE :)

The second episode of my online review show is up, this time covering the 3DS;

http://www.randomreviewshow.com/

A bit late really, as most was filmed on the release days but editing took a lot longer then I hoped.
Still got sound issues and needs to be a bit more snappy but i think its more entertaining then our first episode.
So, let me know what you think

A bit... streched... I often had the feeling that nothing was going on. Loved the jokes though.

Thanks, yes I think pacing is certainly our main issue.
I appricate the feedback.

Should do something about the sound as well, it makes it feel really cheap.

It says stero in the subtitles instead of stereo when you're talking about the 3D glassess.

On a different note, you made me want to pitch the 3DS to my boss, since its got AR stuff in it, and I'm working on android AR games right now.

Will brag about them when it's done.

We will...once we work out how.

Did you mean more footage from the system itself (ie, screengrabs) or you mean you wanted 3ds game reviews too?
I agree with the first - we should have taken more footage and just voiced over instead of the "talking heads" style.

However, I didnt want to review any actual seperate 3DS games for now, just the system itself?

I meant for example, there's a part where you speak about the retrocompatibility. Some game footage would have been nice there.

The paste is indeed distracting. Try make shorter videos...people have a attention span of like 7 minutes or less.

Perhaps like the "bread" item... it could have been one show.

Would also be a good thing if there was more footage with visual associations and more relevant material for illustration.
-like the part with general background information on e-drinks. Where u indeed did have that-
Rather then locking us in the room with you lot most of the time.

It's nice to see you have some fun with the intro but: bit long. What if people wanted to watch a few shows in a row?

For PC games I can advise you to use Hypercam2 to capture the footage. With FM-screen codec or on less powerfull machines with Xvid codec.

For sound get a Zoom H4 or H2, it's worth the investment if you use it. You can use it as external mic with most cameras...or mix the sound in later.

You can see you people having fun so keep it going.

Thanks this is exactly the sort of feedback we need!

Right..yes.
We probably should have shown the difference between stretched and bordered modes that way I think.

Yes, its a bit of a pro/con really.
Sometimes when I'm watching a webshow I like it short, but at other times I get pissed of that I need to go to the next one every 5 minutes orr so :P
(I often watch random ones while working).

I guess maybe I should think up some combination solution...like have both seperate and combined versions or something.
Playlists are possible, but I think then adverts get too annoying (I think 30 secs every 25-30mins is ok, but not every 5 :P)

This we will certainly do more, however.
Montages like the drinks one are pretty easy and its also easier to ge the sound right over them.

Thanks for the technical advice too.
Not sure when the next epp will be up, we have filmed some stuff already but that might be more epp4/5 bits.

Well it would be much more save to go with items well under 7 minutes...even if you want to row them up in one show.

And about the Zoom recorder... doesnt have to be that one... but a external aimable mic would sure make a big diffrence.
Other tips: using the same lighting and background and angles over and over, so it will become iconic. And perhaps some background music.
And never work with family or close friends...-but in this case that one won't happen, I am sure.
