Which LBA 2 version is better? GoG or Steam?

Which LBA 2 version is better? Or are there barely any difference? I think I heard the Steam version runs on Dosbox where GoG runs on a modified exe (correct me if I'm wrong).

I believe the GoG version comes with some extra graphical options?

I have both but usually go for the GOG version. The enhanced version for pc is unfortunately not so good (the magicball is changed for mobile OS) so even if you go for steam do play the original.

Awesome thank you!

I still have the game on original CD, but if one of these versions is an improvement in stability/performance and perhaps even in quality I may consider buying it on one of those platforms.

The GoG versions run on DOSBox, I have only one complain about them, their sounds are a little bit off-sync.

Hmm I see then.. I'm probably better off just using the old CD version then, as I've been using Dosbox as well. The thing is I'm having issues with music stuttering but the last thing I'd want is to have the beautiful soundtrack to start stuttering D:

And if I play the game with Funfrock's patch (thus without dosbox) I used to have issues with the car in the dessert. Has this ever been addressed yet?

Nope... Plus I'd advice strongly against using that patch for a speedrun, as it is known to freeze down a cinematic towards the end of the game.
You could run LBA2 from your CD with DOSBox though, we have a tutorial for that here.

If you have a strong enough PC, I would recommend getting a copy of DOS and running LBA 2 on PCem. It emulates quite a few things better than DOSBox. You may even get a copy of some old Windows version such as 95 or 98, and then use it to run the Windows version of LBA 2 on DOSBox.
