I still couldn't reproduce it. I've tried the normal way, and I've tried using bugs to get there faster than normal. I've tried using space in normal behavior and W in sporty (the action key in my config), just about everywhere in the area of the startingline of the racetrack, with and without the car repaired on desert island, but nothing seems to trigger this (yet). I hope to find it soon.

Words come in all sizes. But even if they fit you,
they might not come at appropriate times.

Good for everyone is finding yourself first,

No I really remember having teleported my car to the racetrack sometime. Though it may have an impact whether or not you are using patches, different OSs, or even different versions of the game. I really can't remember what I did and when.

I never tried to follow him, but only raced against him. That's because of the italian translation I guess.

I've recently tried to follow him, but I obviously am incapacitated with the car steering bug.
I;ve also discovered the fix for that doesn't work. It makes you steer unnatually it seemd at first, and a later ride in the car had the bug again.

True. It was quite shocking really, to discover that it's possible to ride the car smoothly.

I don't want to use dosbox. I'm using windows not dos, and have always done so. It was only for this NEW pc, on which it happened, but I've got others before this one with the same OS that didn't have this bug.

Using DosBox doesn't mean you have to install DOS on your computer. The only thing that changes once you've set DosBox up is that the bugs are gone.

You've said it. That's just the point.
Of cource, I know I don't have to install dos, I know what Dosbox does. It serves as an simulation of dos, but it's still not windows. You see, I never needed dos, simulated or not, to play the game without the steering bug...

I did it! Here's a savegame. Do 'action' after loading the save.

Thanks for that! Tested it, and it is clear to me now I think.

As soon as you press action while standing on the left arrow of the racetrack, if your car is beyond the garden balsam plant(mountain), the car will be teleported to you in the same angle it was in when you left it.

*Edit:
It works also in my own save, whee I'm so happy
The only thing is, the car has to be on Desert Island already, or it won't work.

You could probably also fix it by emulating Windows on a virtual machine too, not sure why you'd want to do that rather than simply using DosBox though?

Because it should work on plain windows. It has before, so why not now? The only difference between this car bug now and without car bug then, is that it was on a different computer, with a different graphics environment and capabilities etc. But same OS, same SP, same keyboard, name it.
