We laughed uncontrollably at that, it just didn't seem to fit the tone of the rest of the game.
Yeah, totally. It's hilarious.

I may play through the game in French though. I don't know a word in French, I wonder if I learn something.

But I thought it has already been found out he says that on Francos island. Here's a savegame as a proof. (Hint: try buying a pick-axe)

I think trying to play through the game in French would definitely be an eye-opener for me. I don't speak French fluently, but I reckon I know enough that it'd be quite interesting.

it's a good way to learn a lenguage if you've got a few basics Movies and videogames are my favourite tools for learning languages. I have to say that playing this game in french might be interesting... except mr French Lenguage and me don't really go along. Right now I'm trying to learn some german and improve my spanish

I took a pre-school French "class" - me and Mr. French Language are probably closer than any of my other languages. I can do a tiny bit of Spanish, barely any German, and I can count in Japanese. Oh, and I can say hello in a silly number of languages because of a song.
When I was revising French I watched episodes of 'Friends' in French with English subtitles. It is amazing what you can pick up that way. It would definitely be interesting to see if the same holds true of videogames.

well personally i can't be arsed as i don't have lb1 installed but if anyone wants to find it,
its in the temple of bu.
the first time that rolling spiky log appears, there's an elevator you can move to make it fall down.
if you go down that hole you'll find the room with the bat/bird whatevs.

It looks exactly like those small black crows in LBA2 (like the one in the birdhouse in front of the preschool and the one on the small bridge before the Tralu. Except it's not black with an orange beak, it's completely green as far as I can remember.

This reminds me that I considered the LBA2 bats to be crows for years

This is LBA2 crow

This is LBA2 bat, which I mistakenly believed to be crows. That belief somehow originated when I was a kid, to my defense note that I had to capture lots of frames to get these distinctly batty screenshots, most of the time they look pretty unidentifiable. But of course it is logical that bats fly in various caves etc., not crows.

If someone doesn't know animals, compare the above screenshots with real life animal silhouettes:

You mean something different from both of the species in my post? Post a screen, I can't be bothered get there running all over the place and taking screenshots again atm

By the way, yeah, now I recall that crows don't have yellow beaks, but black ones. I guess playing lots of pc games doesn't go well with experience in practical zoology.

It's a text used in the LBA2 demo.

Will someone post a screenshot of the green bat from LBA1's temple of Bu?
