Dissidents' Ring

I just found something out I didn't know before. If you have all four key fragments on Zeelich, and you go to the shop in Otringal, and the dissidents have already gone, the shopkeeper is another guy. He wears a Groucho Marx-like mustache, an I-love-twinsun shirt, and he speaks differently. He doesn't sell anything anymore to you. You can kill him and take the items. But, if you show him the dissidents' ring, he calls the police. How cool is that?

What happened to the dissidents, by the way?

Does the ring have any effect on anyone other than the good and the bad shopkeeper and the Mosquibee queen?

That guy even takes your ring away from your inventory, never to be seen again.

Actually I don't know whether anybody else reacts to the ring. It's a gamble, just like the ID card in LBA 1 which you could show to people who weren't hostile, to confirm to them that you're a wanted criminal.

Wow, yet another little detail that I've never encountered in my playthroughs. It's impressive how well the devs managed to fit everything in one game.

When your talking to Johnny Rocket you were spied on next door. This is how the assassin at the elevator of the Francos knew you'd be there and why they knew the location of the dissidents and likely took them and the original shop keeper in to custody.

A Black club, i suppose it really is the inverse of the original, opposite colour, opposite direction of the symbol, fake nose, glasses and mustache and the opposite symbol - red heart to black club ect. .

Not funny

I still say it's meant to be inverse of the original.
