For Half-Life, you can use Milkshape3D, which is downloadable HERE (shareware, though).

but you can also use 3DSMax, and get a plug-in (there are quite a few) for exporting in Half-Life's .smd

I would recommend Milkshape, it's a really easy program and if you see what Nights did with it you will be amazed.

You use other program, then. As long as it's compatible with HL's .smd (I think).

hrmm, this is hard-ish.
I need to know how to attach shapes to joints. And I need to know how to make wedge shapes, trapezoids etc.
