Exam Results...

So some of us got our exam results today (or recently). What did everyone get?

Science Dbl Award - CC
English Lang - B
English Lit - B
French - C
RE - E
Media Studies - D (long story, only did half the course I think)
History - D
ICT - B

To be honest I don't give a shit what I got. I don't need them to get on the course I wanna do (Popular Music) because I am a legend at bass apparently, and seeing as I am gonna be doing music for the rest of my life what is the point in em?

----

Post your results or explode or something I dunno

The grade system in Sweden is different, so I'll make a list of legends here:

IG = F
G = D-E
VG = B-C
MVG = A

Here's my list of all education topics where I got higher than D:
English: VG (B-C)
Physical Education: VG
Technology: VG
Spanish: VG
Society: MVG (A)

The rest is G. That's all as far as I remember.

It's not an exact science's test, so there's always room for the person checking the test to lower the grade a bit on silly things.

Me and my partner handed in our university 2nd term paper (in political science, we wrote about the landless peasant movement in Brazil) last week, and yesterday we got to know that it passed and we almost got the highest grade (out of three). Nice!

If your music career flops, you won't get a job?

Last year for GCSE I got: ( A* highest, F or something being lowest.)
Maths: A
English Lit/Lang: A/A
Biology: A
Chemistry: A
Physics: A
Religion: A*
German: A*
Polish: A*
Geography: A*
History: B

This year: (In A-level there is no A*, only A-F)
AS Critical Thinking: C (shame, I could have done better but I was arrogant.)
A-Level Polish: A (very proud of this as it was a fucking hard exam.)

All in all I'm quite chuffed with my results.

Congratulations on all your results, by the way

Don't you need all As and A*s, as well as Alevels and a degree to be a teacher?

Dunno. I mean, my grades are excellent, and I'm going into education-administration, but in the USA at least, you don't need to have all A's, as long as you are above a C you're golden.

Ten years ago here that would be the story. Nearly everyone does Alevels now, and most of those people go onto Uni. A degree isn't a novelty anymore. It's needed to get a good job because of such fierce competition, not only from English students but from foreigners.

Mmm, agreed, but minorities (foreigners at least) in the USA aren't generally in the teaching profession because unless you can speak english and interpret it incredibly well, most schools won't touch you (at least not at the primary-secondary levels). However, if you are a college professor, language skills aren't as important.

I'm planning on getting my doctorate, which I'm hoping will allow me to teach either at University level or at high school, whichever I prefer.

That said, being a student myself I don't know if I'd want to be a teacher. Crappy pay, long hours, lots of marking and plenty of shitty schools where students don't respect you. Not quite what I want to do having spent so long working towards that target.

Then again I have no idea what American schools are like and I am guessing it's very different to the situation here.

Not like be a proper music teacher as in teaching the subject music but doing music tuition at schools etc - you don't need As and stuff for that but you need to know about music so I could be a music teacher.
