LBAX music

Here shall be the thread (if mad-aeon is ok with that ofcourse ) where musicians interested in helping with their art can post their samples and discuss about LBA musical style in order to create new tunes for LBAX but keep the cohesion with the regular LBA tunes (and listeners to give us their advises indeed)

mad aeon and LBAX supporters:
Q#1; Do you effectively think the original atmosphere of the musics should be kept (ie: the hypothetic composers shouldn't wander much from it) in LBAX musics?

I've kinda analyzed the musical pattern of LBA2 songs (these are my main source of inspiration, as the score is better in that 2nd opus imho, but let's not linger here as the neverending which's-best debate does never end...) and tried to develop something with that structure, atmosphere and restrictions. Vachey's work is very much focused on melodies + counter-meoldies put together, cycles of variations from an initial melodic line ; his tunes generally have very basic chord progressions, sometimes even globally unchanged chord throughout the whole theme, though orchestral cohesion is major and he generally builts it with first growing then decreasing intensity. Oh and he prefers minor
[Discuss] [Whatelse did you find]

I think these clues might "orientate" our reasearch in that matter

I think that the general atmosphere has to be kept, of course with different "themes", that should share the same Lba style.

there are Some Kinds of lbaish Music Which can be splited in 2 Main kinds.
A)The melodic (like the opening theme)
B)Some more weirdish non melodic Music (Musqubees like )
Usually The more "Serious/Army" tunes would contain French Horns and Very Bassy Strings to make it more intense.

phillip -
likes to build rhytm sometimes with the Pizzicato strings - > like in the
S14.mid + S15.mid (Pizzicato strings gave the rhytm, Marimba+musicBox/basson+oboeGave melody)

The first music u hear in the game is a Some sort of flute(When u r in jail)/ or of course when u play the flute in the WLD.

The more armish Stuff -> S21.mid

this is the base for the lba music (of course u have to pay attention to that kind of ..."weirdness" that follows every melody the composition not always matches the musical "rules" that most follow)

BTW : these are midi files from only the first game , in the second lba game the music is less strange and more melodic and the more ambient parts are more simplified single instruments creating an atmosphere .
*That should be useful too*

LOL, just fund this topic accidentally. I composed music for this project way back in time.
I thought project was dead about a year ago, so I uploaded the pieces to my site.

That's strange, you must have some fancy plug-in applet installed. It works just fine here. FireFox asks whether you would like to open it, or save it. IE opens them in WMP where you can select File -> Save as...

Anyways, thanx! I stoped working on them since there was no feedback really on them. There is still some things to correct in them.

I've composed 3 tunes, I probably should make em MIDI first (takes less time) to give you a glimpse and if they're approved i'll work on an improved mp3 version.
see you when i've midied them then
