Twinsun How do you pronounce Funfrock?

There's a debate if it's fan-frock or fon-frock, and you need to settle it.

Ok ill be honest.. I've always said "fun-frock" literally, as it's spelt.

I could very much be incorrect and wouldn't be suprised if I was but that's how I've always said it since childhood. But being from the US and not fully understanding the linguistics of other languages, I'm sure its pronounced differently.

Perhaps sending an email to Fred to ask will clear the air.

I assume you meant you pronounce the first syllable like you pronounce the word "fun", and in that case you should've picked fan-frock.
My question is about the basic vowel (aeiou sounds), not the accent.

ʌ being the same vowel sound as in up and a being the same as in pot.

Yeah..umm..these games have voice acting (although, I guess the English voice actors might have pronounced it differently to the rest, I never thought about it).

based on this, I say I pronounce it f^nfrok with o being... the same as in... monk, I think... Like it's pronounced in the french version.

How the hell can you pronounce it multiple ways when the game says the name a hundred times ?

The english version says "fun-frock". That's why I say it that way. Different pronunciations in the different versions.

This. I say it literally how it's spelled as that's how it's spoken in the (English) game.

What I typed was an IPA transcription of how it's spoken in the English version of the game.

I always read it like /fʌnfrɒk/

First part "fun", as an english speaker would read it, second part, as an italian 7 years old child playing LBA2 would read it :P - the "o" in "frock" being the same "o" of "lot" (UK pronunciation)

I too pronounce it as it is spelled and never considered any other pronunciation. "Frock" means a woman's dress (in Britain at least) so I thought of his name as meaning "Fun Woman's Dress". I assumed that the name was chosen as a jokey name.

In french, "froc" is a familiar word for pants.
