New Pope elected!

So yeah, ladies and genetlemen, the new Pope has been elected - Pope Francis I., born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, an Argentinian of Italian (Piedmontese) descent, he was the Archbishop of Buenos Aires.
His election came as a surprise, as it was widely thought that the new Pope would most likely be an Italian or a North American.

Anyway, my first impression of him is, he's very humble, but also has a sense of humor. Certainly not as upstuck as his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI. was. In fact, to me he seems closer in spirit to Pope John Paul II.. But, we'll see how he turns out.

Why are you caring that much ?

(I know it sounds a bit agressive, but I'm not, I really wonder why you care about that...)

I'm stoked. Just like the fire at the papal conclave.

The irony is that this is what you suggest the pope would be

These are my thoughts around the pope:

Pope
White
St. Nicolaas with a spore infection
Sinterklaas with mold
Santa Claus
Coca Cola.

don't worry i was playing the fool, I knew what he meant don't worry. I just wanted him to say it rather than leave it implied, so i could make a quick escape from the thread if need be.

You don't need to create an opportunity to be able to escape from a thread, but it's always nice to play someone

point is anything involving religion is going to cause trouble some where down the line, but so long as they mind their own bussiness (which they don't, gay mariage stem cell research anyone?) then i do not care what crazy beliefs they hold so long as they do not cause more trouble. Take a page out of buddism and just live at peace with one another, why all this fighting over something that there is no proof of? 9/11 the cursades pointless slaughter with religion used to justify it.

Support stem cell research
Support equal right no matter who or what you are
Support tackling animal and human disease in Africa
Support conservation and say no to habitat destruction and poaching

Live a good life and die happy knowing you did something good, no matter how small, every little bit adds up to a whole bigger picture.

my 2 cents love ya all

Hmm, lots of interesting subjects in there. I was born and raised in a Catholic environment, in a capitalistic country, but nevertheless I also oppose religion and capitalism. Obvious your ideas interest me.

But what Jesse really was after, why does this new pope interest you, if you aren't a believer? Is it about his potential (or lack thereof) to change things towards your belief?
