easter

i'm going back to uni tomorrow (er, actually, today (it's 01:28 lol ^_^ )) and most people are taken aback when i tell them so, because that would mean i was going back before easter. apparently most people have a celebration at easter, even if they're not hugely religious? but in my family easter isn't such a huge thing - we don't have a get-together or anything like that. i just wondered how many people here did or didn't celebrate easter?

(i've been working in a school the past few weeks and one member of staff was stunned when i asked her "why do we celebrate good friday?" )

We celebrate easter with chocolate eggs, weird house decorations in the shape of chickens and eggs (no bunnies for some reason) and of course national days off from school or work. My family is not religious.

We don't celebrate as much as wacko's family (ie, decorations, etc) but in the morning on Easter Sunday we eat one of those traditional breakfast things. I know my family in Poland get together, but that doesn't really happen here. Not many English people I know celebrate Easter as, erm, religiously as Europeans.

I go to church and eat as much chocolate as possible. It's quite fun.

We celebrate it at the saturday here (today), so it's already done. We fill paper eggs with candy and hide them in the house and also we eat easter food (which I hate). I also got some cash. We have decorations (chickens, bunnies, eggs, witches and colorful feathers) in the house for about 1-2 weeks, but noway nere as much as for x-mas.

Do the whole religious church thing, as well as get togethers, colored eggs, chocolate, etc., etc.

Candy is nice, so Easter is nice.
