Imo this is exactly the kind of thing that was so great to find out while playing.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Despite amazon's reports I got the game today
I played the first level. The story is a COMPLETE RIP-OFF. That has to be a bad joke. The first level also was a bit bland and easy. Well, considering the ratings it got, it's bound to get better. So far it feels like SMG 1.2

Mario? Story?
Rip-Of of umm..what? O_o
SMG only had a few pages of story over 30 hours of game and even that was more then almost all the other mario games put together.
Aside from the RPGs, Mario's been pretty much the definitive example of minimalistic/non-existent storytelling in games.

Yes.

But the story of SMG2 is exactly the same as SMG1. Only minus Rosalina.

Which means that the "star festival that only happens in a 100 years" (as they say both in SMG1 and SMG2) happens TWICE in Mario's lifetime.

Ok, thats FAIL then. Not that it matters one iota to the gameplay, but if you only have a few pages of story and still get an inconsistency thats just terrible

Of course, I guess it could be arguing the festival is just really long and still going? I wont be able to play the game for ages, so I dunno how the intro presents it.

One thing though (spoiler I picked up from an interview);
Spoiler:
Rosalina is in it somewhere apparently

Team Apache

Really like the game, nice physics and even tough it´s modern technology simulator, it doesnt get too complex, you really do have a chance if theres a couple of rockets following you, and you learn the controlls really quick.
Graphics was good for it´s time, and nowdays you really forget about the old 1999-look when you get involved in the game =)
Recommended.

Any suggestions of flight sims that I could try? Mostly like combat flight sims, unless its something like the first Flight Unlimited game

Not that old, and still one of the best games in the last decade.

Penumbra: Overature: Eppisode1 - Just (finally) completed it. Amazing game. Utterly superb, especially for such a small team. Wish I paid more.

StarCraft 2: Nice but short singleplayer, multiplayer is ok when you have a chance, usually gets crushed within 15minutes. At least online battles doesnt last forever like SupCom

Wolfstein: Enemy Territory: Great playability, medium graphics and lots of classes.
No singleplayer mode.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2. DICE did a great job. Really looking forward to see what they do with the upcoming Medal of Honor reboot.

H.A.W.X. 2 Demo
When saw the trailer, it looked awesome, and so did alot of screenshots, but the demo was only ok, it reminds me alot of Ace Combat but the controlls are a bit stiff and some AI´s sometimes take a 90degree turn out of nowhere, much like playing dogfighting games online when your opponents have a bad internet connection You play in 3rd person, but your plane in front of you feel so stiff that the developers could have saved themself for the modelling job and just used a flat 2D picture of a plane taken from behind instead, it feels just as stupid, IL2 Sturmovik:BOP and the Ace Combat series did this much better.
The story seems more interresting than most flight games, and the game is kinda cool in some ways, but I guess I´ll wait for Ace Combat 7 instead.

sgk: Think of it this way: it's like a message in a bottle. In our world, we put a message inside a bottle to protect it while it travels through the oceans to reach some other island. In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

I've been playing Mario & Luigi 3: Bowser's Inside Story lately. I'm pleasently surprised. They did really ditch the linearity/plot-holes of Partners in Time, and with Bowser in the mix, they really manage to have great humor. And I'm surprised by all the varieties of game styles they implemented, how well they all fit together. And tons of mini-games!

This game is looking very good indeed.
